I like a little humor with my horror. You might also check out Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and Drag Me to Hell.

yes, we've traveled this road before. I've also heard from others about how good they are. I'll eventually get the series.

YOU need to check out the 8-films to die for. There are 3 series, so 24 ttl. movies. If you have a Movie-Stop there, they have them used for like five to seven bux each. They're all at least above average, some of them are really good. Walmart generally carries a few of them at a time, but never stocks all of them, @ least our Walmart is that way. Amazon also has them used for cheap. You should grab some of them for halloween.

I have a couple of them... Gravedancers is one. I'll check them out for sure... I grab a few cheap horror movies every halloween.

Edit: Drag Me to Hell is new. It's not part of the series, but it's from the same director. (Sam Raimi) The old (Olds') Delta 88 from the Evil Dead Series makes a cameo... kind of a cool little easter egg.

me too, lol. it's a fun 'cozy' holiday. I do the same, KCM. LOL...

As bad as it sounds, since my divorce, I've really struggled w/ Christmas and liking it, again. I mean, I like it's meaning, but, it is a tough one to enjoy when you aren't dating and have no family, anymore.

But w/ Halloween, I'll never struggle w/ it.

Simply Red 09-28-2009 07:57 PM

oh and 'Penny Dreadful' is the one to get.

Jenson71 09-28-2009 09:01 PM

Some of those '30s-'40s horrors are great. Dracula, especially.

I picked up the Boris Karloff Frankenstein, and Bela Lugosi Dracula, 75th Anniversary DVD's last Halloween. (Says "Universal Legacy Series") They're awesome.

I'm hoping to find a Wolfman version...

I assumed it would suck. (as if I ever miss a zombie movie)...

I figured it was a ripoff of "Shaun of the Dead"

But the 8 reviews on RT so far are all positive. I'm in.

If you take "The Two ****balls" out of the original and write something, you know, better; that movie has potential classic status.

Great cast.
