I could be wrong? I think teams can add up too 80 something players with out affecting the cap space this time of year. Then come time the deadlines during preseason they have to trim the roster & that is when they tell who stays or who gots to go. So they can keep these guys around for camp fodders.

The first 51 players count vs the cap and the chiefs only have 4.1m left.

But don't we have over 51 players? So the whole 4 mill won't affect the cap, maybe 1 or 2 at most I would think. Also, we still have a few weeks until the draft, so there's plenty of time to restructure somebody making 15 mill this year, right?

OK, so he'd be about a 3.5 cap hit for the year then. We would still have a few weeks to restructure someone else, correct?
