Zero chance we sign him for “top wide receiver money” when we wouldn’t entertain the contract that dhop got last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Mike Evans and Saquon Barkley gonna be Texans

They all say they want a ring, but sign with teams like Titans or Cardinals.

She got that number from Spotrac. Lazy ass reporting. But still we won't pay a 30 year old what he will want. Wrs can be taken out of games and are not worth over 15.

The Texans have Stroud and cap space and are basically his hometown team. That would be my betting favorite. |
If Evans wants top WR money I'd rather have Sneed back and sort through the culls or use the draft for a WR.

I'd much rather have a pro ready first rounder, and a couple of solid mid tier FA's |

Also they are focused on getting a new contract done with Nico Collins. |
Top defenses combined with HOF QBs win championships. Figure out a way to keep Sneed and Jones and **** spending cap room on WR

Lol, well, that and a completely flukey accidental touch on a punt coverage that finally gave KC the ball inside the 49ers 30-yard line. Before that, the Chiefs offense punted 5 times, kicked a pair of FGs, and turned the ball over twice. So yeah, maybe better offensive weapons would've been nice. Maybe with DHop we don't have to get lucky on that punt coverage, eh? But you keep ****ing that "we don't need to spend $$$ on the offense" chicken, while completely ignoring the obvious. |

He runs great routes. He fights for the football. |

Sound familiar? |

I’m not sure why this is the common thought with Mooney, but it is not accurate. He has a career drop rate of about 4.1 percent, league average is about 7.5, and his only season AT or ABOVE that rate was a few years ago. |
Don’t see Tyron smith being a target for the chiefs with his injury history

Mooney is not a top-notch receiver... more like a top-notch dropper...
Amirite?? (Sorry, just wanted to keep the fake news going...) |
Mooney would be a massive upgrade over any WR not named Rice here.
|
Mooney is an obvious fit. He's got speed, is an intelligent route runner, can make difficult catches and works inside and outside. His talent with Pat could really turn him into a very good receiver imo. Plus he had his best year with Nagy as HC.

The thing about Mooney is that he would allow you to possibly target one of these big WRs in the draft too. That or you just continue adding speed.

Adonai and Rashee can bully people and Mooney, Slayton can stretch the field.

Hardman does the gadget/motion stuff. Mooney is the Z receiver. Rice is the bully slot. Round 2 WR plays outside. Someone like Xavier Legette or Brendan Rice would be pretty nice fits in that situation. I'm warming up to Rice. I like the size, I want to see if he runs in the 4.3s as expected, and I keep seeing him show good instincts on play extensions. That's going to matter as long as 15 is taking snaps. |
Quote:
|
Mooney’s decline in production is probably due to Fields being so bad.
If he had a big season with the Chiefs, he could probably be in line for either a big extension or monster deal from some other team next year. He might be wise to take a reasonable 1-year with the Chiefs and get paid the following season. |
Quote:
Would really fit in well here assuming we got our MVS replacement already |
Quote:
The issue is value. Would I want to spend a 1st on a slot guy instead of a #1 WR? |
Quote:
Moore was at 71% with the same QB Fields completed 63% of his passes to everyone else last year and barely 50% to Mooney. I think I’d rather just see them bring Mecole back…or even Richie James. |
Quote:
;) Why not just keep giving snaps to Skyy Moore. |
Going back to RBs, I really love what the Chiefs did at RB back in the 2018 offseason.
Kareem Hunt had his monster rookie year, and I think we were hoping Spencer Ware could hobble together something on his last legs as a backup. But that was about it. We needed some depth and competition, so we brought in a million randos who were castoffs or depth pieces from other teams. A couple were veteran cuts, and a couple were free agents who were done with their rookie deals and weren't going to get anything other than a minimum contract. And out of that pack of replacements came Damien Williams. Kind of want to see us try that same strategy. There's bound to be a gem in a group like that. |

I don’t think how slow eyes used a non-primary WR target who is primarily a downfield weapon tells me anything about the WR. Fields sucks, man, unless his first read is open or he has room to run. |
