This team can't tackle.

AT ALL.

And it's something that's not going to be fixed.

Fact is, Mahomes had 2 bad turnovers and missed multiple open receivers for TDs early.

Additionally, when we play from behind other teams can commit to running the ball. If we play with a lead, that isn’t the case. They have to throw the ball down the field which is more likely to lead to sacks and turnovers.

You're a ****ing reerun. We played with the lead in the 4th and the defense lost it. Mahomes brought us back but the shit stain defense couldn't hold the lead.

Thats a really good idea actually. Would be very effective. That solution is way too rational so therefore it is considered "brutal" in this society, won't happen.

They're paid millions of dollars to play a game for our entertainment anyway, whats a little shock to a 275 pound man. 3-4 times a week 16 weeks a year?

I was in the camp that RR and AH were behind in reps - through week 6 this can no longer be an excuse - they're both liabilities.

You act like I’m putting this all on Mahomes. I’m not.

It’s mostly on the defense. I’m saying that Mahomes isn’t without some blame.

Yes, Mahomes brought us back, but he’s also part of the reason we had a deficit to begin with.

Um...I think you guys only got flagged once - I bet that helped out too... I also believe KC covered the spread. No shame in losing to New England on the ROAD. Game could have gone either way and don't pretend that you weren't sweating when KC took the lead. KC showed up and it took your best to beat them. If KC plays it's best early on- you lose that game. IF you guys ever come to ARROWHEAD, you'll lose by more than 3 I'd bet. Congrats on winning this one. There will likely be another one down the road...

Lol. Enjoy it while it lasts. I was perusing your board last night during the game and the venom that was being spewed over there after you guys blew a 15 point lead was toxic. You know you’re on borrowed time. This game made you nervous.

We don't need a top 5 defense dude, we just need to get middle of the pack. That's absolutely doable in one offseason.

Sutton can't close out a game worth a shit- never has and never will.

This is the worst defense I have ever seen in Red.

Can't tackle, can't stop the run. every single screen pass is a huge play, can't cover tight ends, can't wrap up on a sack, stupid penalties.

And Sutton goes conservative the entire second half. Hey, let's rush three and have the rest of the team not do jack shit. Pathetic performance. That entire side of the ball from Sutton on down are a ****ing embarrassment.

All it took for you to beat us was being gifted points in the first half, an all-time historic shitty defensive performance by the Chiefs and ZERO penalty yards by the refs- and you won at the last second of the game.

If my team - a team who has only lost 3 games at home (2 vs buffalo, 1 vs KC) in god knows how many years.......

just got lit up for 40pts at home....and needed a last-minute FG to win.

I sure as hell wouldnt be talking any crap.

But hey, Pats fans (and Boston fans in general) are what they are.

They feasted on 3 straight home games versus 3 horrible defenses.

For reference, the 2003 defense gave up 14, 20, 14, 10, 23, 34 in the first 6 weeks of the season. They also forced 17 turnovers in that time.

2018...28, 37, 27, 23, 14, 43. They have forced 9 turnovers. 5 in one game.

This defense is far worse through the first 6 weeks. The 2003 defense wasn't good at all, but it only had 4 legitimately bad defensive games the entire season. The only thing people remember is the "no punt" game, which, while atrocious, was only marginally worse than what we witnessed last night.

In 2003 we were giving up wide open touchdown passes shortly after our offense scored, we certainly weren’t giving our offense opportunities to build leads. Opposing teams are putting up numbers because they’re gashing us underneath and trying to play catch-up. Our current defense is shit but they have given us small windows of opportunity for our offense to build leads.

I think the Ravens D is probably legit, they gave up 34 on the road at Cinci but only 14 to the Steelers. We will see how good they are when we play them later this year but I think they are pretty good.

Good defenses tend to be teams that have played awful offenses too.

Ravens D looks great. They've also played Buffalo and Tennessee, probably the worst offensive teams in the AFC... but they held them to a combined 3 points.

He held the Steelers to 14. The Bengals put up points because Flacco Flacco'd, but they held them under 400 yards. Held the steelers under 300.

The ravens D is good. So far.

Wrong. KC has played 4 road games. Won 3 and lost 1 in the last seconds. NE has played only TWO road games and got CRUSHED in both. They haven't even been competitive on the road. I bet the Bears hand it to you on the road this week. Gotta win on the road, as well as home, to host the AFCCG. New England is not a shoe-in this season despite playing in a craptastic division.

True, but the first part of your statement isn't really accurate. The 03 defense forced a lot of turnovers, especially early in the season, which gave the offense extra possessions and they capitalized on them. They did that during their 9-0 run. But, it eventually caught up with them as the defense forced fewer and fewer TOs as the season went on.

We may be splitting hairs but I remember that 2003 season like it was yesterday. The one advantage that 2003 defense had was its ability to force turnovers. This defense...I just don't see anything other than an okay pass rush (so long as Houston is in there). Guys are always wide open and our vulnerability to the run is glaring. I mean, they forced zero punts last night and gave up 500 yards of offense, along with 43 points. They got to Brady three times all night. Three times. They are the first team in NFL history to give up 500 yards three different times during the first 6 weeks of the season.

Unless we play a completely inept offense (see: Jacksonville) then I have zero faith in this team come playoff time. We should get a top 2 seed because, other than the Rams, Chargers, and I suppose Baltimore, I think we can basically outscore everyone else. But this has the feeling of 2003 all over again. A good offensive teams rolls into Arrowhead in the playoffs and our defense cannot get off the field. We'll have a turnover or a bad call and we'll be playing catchup the entire game.
