I would also like to see bobsled with 2-3 sleds at once. Ben Hur on ice.

Pretty much all the sports suck. Some are interesting for 20 minutes only because we're only exposed to them once every 4 years.

As much as someone might like to ski, seeing someone go down the hill, one at a time, just isn't that fun. Make it a real race and have them go down at the same time and you might have something.

The downhill snowboarding race and speed skating are great because they are actually racing right with each other.

He's flashy, but that's cool. And the two of them are funny, so it's all good I'm my book.. He's in a sport that's partly about flair, and he's got that wrapped up.

He was hilarious in Rio. 10 billion times better than the usual crusty old fart announcer.

Dane & Glory,

I understand where you two are saying, and I get that. It's just that his flair isn't jiving with me, and that hair kind of looks odd, that's all.

But his commentary is, like ping said, is very good, so I got no issues there.

Yeah, but we frequently have the figure skaters clearing the ice before my team takes the ice, so I get their "flair", and they sure can skate.. I know I ask many of my hockey players to skate their power and edge sessions, only because it makes my hockey players better. After that they respect the figure skaters more, and stop making so many stupid comments that young men make about figure skaters. So the flair is fine, at least I don't have to deal with their costumes. That being said, as a goalie dad, I've learned a LOT about stitching leather.

It's all good man...

I know what you mean though. I never really liked flair, since I am more of a rumble and tumble type of a guy, but I do acknowledge their skill because of the stunts they have to perform.

I get it, and I'm a hockey/football/wrestling coach, so I take a lot of shit for thinking the figure skaters are awesome. And he just really pours it on.

Indeed. Our girl crushed it and the Shibutani siblings did great. Bronze was our ceiling in that overall event anyway. Great performances all around. Those 2 Russian chicks battling for the individual gold should be epic.

The announcers calling most actual events are first rate. Especially Chad Salmela(biathalon, cross country), but I agree that Couric and company can take a hike.

At a non-technical level NBC has seemingly done very poorly with this opportunity.
