We all could use a little more Jasonsauto in all of our lives.

I've been doing art for almost two decades, but I would love to work on rebulids of classic muscle cars.
I really wish I knew someone who could put me to work. Love working with my hands. |

Then there's obviously making the repairs, drivetrain, body and/or interior, yourself with elbow grease, and becoming a car swap [like a flea market for gear heads] bum looking for deals, which will cost more time but significantly less money. |

Don't be shy, jump on that offer. |

She thinks she wants to drive her '57 to Greaserama this year. I'm a bit nervous, definitely taking a fire extinguisher. |

We actually spliced several cars together, Initial car was a 4cyl 2dr with 4wh drum brakes, but a pristine main body. Front frame and rear end from an SS. Fender here, hood there, trunk lid from Timbuktu. Then had to rerun wires for EVERYTHING. |

Are the calipers aluminum? If so, you might be able to polish them. My friend did that to his Camaro, had them professionally polished, it looked pretty cool. |

Just kidding. I love my 2005 Mustang. |

R/T stripe from a Challenger too. Yeah, black's been my choice so far but I'm liking that idea of polishing them out. I'm the person that takes his wheels off so he can clean/polish the insides of the wheels. With my Charger I'll also tire shine the inside walls. All that work "might" get noticed each summer. I was reading an auto rag editor talking about how to take pix of your hot rod He said to always get all 4 wheels/tires in the shot. |

My dad is a highly skilled welder and I told him I wanted to do that and like you I've never welded, he said, "That is simple junkyard welding. Just practice on a piece before doing the welds. Since it doesn't have to pass an x-ray test or look pretty, it's pretty hard to **** it up." |

Anyone ever check to see if someone was making a bolt in motor mount? For my Charger I used an outfit that specialized in them. |

You don’t want the engine sitting too high in the chassis, creates handling and hood clearance issues, too low and it’s hitting the oil pan on everything, have to consider clearance front and back (firewall and radiator), the engine will probably have to be offset about an inch to the passenger side to clear the steering shaft and it has to be tilted back at about 6-8 degrees for consistent oil flow. If a pair of bolt in adaptor mounts from a place like Advanced Adapters is available that’s the route to take because positioning and angles have already been worked out for you. |

If anyone is truly interested back episodes are on YouTube. |

So do you think they make adapters to mount a LS into my sweet Ford Fiesta
|
Quote:
LSx swaps into Miatas and Rx-7's/8's are pretty popular. There's probably conversion kits out there for them. We just sold a specialty part to a race team that swapped an LS into a Hyundai Genesis. |

I learned a helluva lot finding out about gears, how it transfers energy and how it makes the Scat Pack Shaker stay in the same neighborhood(at least till 90mph) against the Hellcat. |

Don't know if I need to gain more speed by changing the car's height to battle natures laws that will slow me down. |
My soon to be used Mustang is lowered. I just hope it makes it up the driveway curb! ROFL

But man.....its such a pain in the ass to drive. I have to approach every curb, every dip in the road and every slopped driveway with caution. I usually cant pull all the way into a parking spot or i risk ****ing up the front of the car. Finding a place to change my oil or tires? PFFFFFF.......most lifts cant get under my car. Tow Truck? Yeah ****ing right. Flat bed only, and even then i have to lodge 2x4's under it to get it onto the ramp. Its a blessing and a curse. |
Just saw a commercial for dodge and the movie Fast and Furious 7. My SCAT Pack Shaker is the main car in the movie. Only thing different is I deleted the Shaker stripe and they had that big Dayton spoiler on it.

Sounds similar to changing exhausts. I see these comments on the boards of better performance and gas mileage when they change their exhaust to some performance cat back. Just BS in my opinion. They are changing their exhaust to get that low rumble and louder sound. Gas mileage my ass.:shake: |

You're dead on, cat back systems don't improve flow enough to make much difference so you're just changing the sound. |

I have 4" I think at this point between the ground and my lowest suspension points. I had to raise the front 1/2" and the rear about an inch this weekend in prep for its first drive since tear down, paint, and new front suspension. Hasn't been on the road in 2.5 years but I plan to get it out Friday for some test drives. http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/g...psabe7601e.jpg Interior needs finished. http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/g...psuksbd1ge.jpg Carb will be gone soon and replaced with fuel injection. http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps7oz0cml7.jpg Only need 2 things to get her done, time and $. |

There is a mod I was looking at that put a cold air intake system, performance cat back and a computer chip in that gained 58HP on my car. I guess its not some company BS to sell the mod. Actual users have put it on their cars and posted the results. I'm afraid of putting those mods on because I could blow the warranty right out of the box plus its a damn fast car already. Don't want to kill myself having a little fun. |
Good looking ride Marcy.

Interior, audio, injection, and some new wheels and tires and I am done for a few years until I get to have my turbo LSX motor I want. |
