I also think he's smart enough to be open to a reeruned trade allowing us move down and still get our guy. I don't think it will happen. I don't think he believes it will happen. But I think he's still playing the "meh" game at 1 in hopes someone will chug some purple drank on draft day... |

It's not just Geno, you ****ing moron. I don't know how many times I have to state it on this ****ing place. Geno is MY preference. But I'm not going to lambast Reid and Dorsey if they take Wilson at #1. I'm also not going to be angry with Barkley. I'm trusting the braintrust of Reid + Dorsey to make the right call on the QB in this draft. We have the #1 overall pick, so I look forward to their pick of any QB in the draft. It's been posted a billion times on this place the shitty draft value that is represented by taking a non QB in the top 10 of this draft. This is a putrid draft to do so, especially if you're the Chiefs who already have a LT and TWO good pass rushers. If the supposed "brilliant" NFL minds we hired at One Arrowhead pass on a QB and take Lotulelei or one of the DEs, I'll be ****ing pissed. If they draft a ****ing offensive lineman, I'll be LIVID. There is zero excuse for that kind of bone-headed bullshit. And I don't care WHO THE HELL is the #1 QB in that draft. It could be Landry ****ing Jones and nothing but OTs worth the #1 overall pick. That is inexcusable for any franchise. And look, I'm pretty positive on the Reid hiring. A lot more than most people on here. He was my #1 coach that I wanted because he's such a QB guy. I'm VERY happy with the Dorsey hiring. But I don't know if these guys will work out. I was a guy who drank the Pioli kool-aid pretty hardcore in 2009, and my reward was Matt Cassel and Tyson ****ing Jackson. I'm not ****ing falling for that shit again. I can smell draft idiocy a mile away now. And if I get the faintest WHIFF of Cassel/Jackson idiocy, there's going to be hell to pay Go anal **** your family. |
The Geno supporters have constantly been labeled as "Geno or bust" when it really isn't that way.
|
I'll defer to Dorsey and Reid. For some reason I trust them. And I use to despise Clark Hunt. Not anymore. Let's see how this all plays out.
|
We "deferred" to Polio too when he went with Cassel.
|
I hear what you're saying PGM but I think this time Clark and company know they can and must hit a home run so to speak.
|
True, but the thought of the trio of Jekyll, Alex Smith, and Glennon make me vomit in my mouth quite a bit.

Cuz i mean....They would NEVER blow smoke up our asses, right? No NEVER that. That kinda shit never takes place several months prior to the Draft. |

I get the frustration and concern (given the Chiefs history of not drafting QB's), however what Clark or anyone from the Chiefs is saying on February 1st means nothing. |

It's far too early to be worrying about what these guys say. The real rumors will start to fly after the combine and during the pro days. |

I still believe Geno Smith is the right choice, I'm just discussing the option because it's being brought up quite a bit in circles everywhere. Star is going to be a good player, I think. He can play 34 or 43 and do a lot for any defense. But, Geno is going to be the right guy for the Chiefs and this WCO style offense. He can move, bootleg passes are routine for Geno. He is very accurate in the short passing game and has a fairly quick release -- two very important components to Reid's WCO game. I really like his short pass release because it is very high and his trajectory puts the ball into the ground which cuts down the INT factor, but the passes are very catchable. He's got arm too. He can push the ball downfield. If they don't pull the trigger on Geno I believe a few QB's being touted as 1st rounders are going to slide back to the 2nd round or even 3rd. |
We are gonna let a similar player to Star walk this offseason...Dorsey is a premier run stuffer and doesn't offer a whole lot as a pass rusher.
Sounds like Stars skill set, to me. Hell, I'd go as far as to say that Dorsey was a better prospect coming out, too...he may be a better player than Star RIGHT NOW, too. |
I say bring Glenn back. They simply cannot trot out Rapeatitty or blow the number one on the position.

The ONLY player we could chose (that isn't a QB) from this class that wouldn't create a logjam at a position would be milliner...it's a shame Pioli let Carr walk.
Dorsey and Star as similar players Joeckel and Albert are, too A QB HAS TO BE THE PICK. |

I think Sanchez would have turned out better if in not such a big market as New York I was on the fence about drafting him. I want nothing to do with him. I want Geno. |

This brain trust has the first pick, barring some stupid trade (in our favor)I want to see a quarterback as the first pick.
|
I think the kc front office just doesn't want to show their hand. As other's have stated it's way too early to worry about what kc is going to do in the draft. Much will be determined after the combine and personal workouts, etc. At least Reid is looking at Stanzi and not just blowing the kid off. It looks like Reid sees there are some pieces to work with. Outside of chokeland, all the teams in the AFCW are going to be much better in the next few years. SD has a franchise QB in Rivers and that is always the center piece around winning.

Dorsey's scouting reports:
http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/p...ospect_id=1300 As a senior, Dorsey had 64 tackles (39 solo), 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks while playing the second half of the season with a sore knee. He's explosive off the ball, which helped him consistently collapse the pocket. He's more than just a space eater against the run. He has the speed to shoot gaps and strength to fight through double teams and get to the ball-carrier. http://www.raiderfans.net/forum/draf...ng-report.html Very strong and powerful...Extremely active with a non-stop motor...Outstanding quickness with a burst to close...A hard worker with terrific intangibles...Agile and changes directions well...Can penetrate and wreak havoc in the backfield...Stout at the point of attack and can hold his ground versus the run...Has long arms and plays with very good leverage...Has excellent range...Smart with nice awareness and instincts...Has a lot of experience...Versatile and has played all along the line. |
I see some big "I told ya so's" coming.
(lol) |
His scouting reports mean jack at this point. He's had plenty of chances to rush the passer in the pros and he's terrible at it. No get off, not explosive at all, no moves.
|
Theyre just playing the tight lip game. Misdirection and misinformation. Geno and KC...as the deck is stacked with the new regime...are a perfect match. When Geno kills at the combine...the jig is up and the Deal...........is Done.

I hope we don't take him. Too risky. The jags have been qb starved for so long, they deserve him.

Tyler Wilson is NOT going to be the first pick in this draft. It really is GENO or bust folks.
The only good news about drafting Star first and a 2nd/3rd round QB is that whomever is chosen in that scenario is 5 times better than matty c. |
We don't want "better than PeeWee". We want the best out of this draft period. We'll own this bitch division in short time if they take Geno and he pans out.

I wasn't ripping you for wanting to take a quarterback in the first round. I want them to take a quarterback in the first round. I was ripping you for the way you chose to express it. The valid arguments you make get lost in all of the anger and all of the posturing. That's all I'm saying. |
