It's not hard to do when you're a QB.

Well, Jags, Oakland, Bills, Jets, Cards, Browns, Philly, SD, and Minny could all potentially draft a 1st round QB. I think Glennon goes in the first.

RunKC 12-19-2012 04:13 PM

Honestly, I can really see the Bills taking Glennon. Can't really explain it, but some players you just have a gut feeling that they would be on said team.

Like Brandon Flowers in 2008 and Mark Clayton when he was drafted by the Ravens.

Interesting. I wonder if arm strength is something they'd overvalue due to their playing conditions. Won't matter with global warming though. :)

No wonder Pioli has a hard-on for him.

So basically that means Pioli would try to trade down. If not he would take Glennon at 1 and all of CP will explode in a rage never seen before.

The server crashes and Arrowhead is nuked from orbit.

I wouldn't normally reveal rep comments but this one deserves mention.

DomCasual posted that montage of pics of Glennon and I had to rep him.

He replied to my rep with a rep message and this picture:

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I see his upside as Joe Flacco lite. Not only b/c they're both tall, lanky and awkward with big noses. Mostly b/c of their game.

Comparing him to college Flacco, they both seem to use their height well, and pick apart the defense with short and intermediate routes. Both capable of throwing the deep ball, but hesitant to. He could be Flacco, but won't have Baltimore's defense to lean on, so he won't have near the immediate success.

Even if he becomes Flacco, he certainly wouldn't be worth the #1 overall.

TribalElder 12-19-2012 08:20 PM

Second pick maybe? He could be our Kirk Cousins for Geno III

No, you can' t pick 2 qbs in round 1 and 2. Maybe in the third round we could take a project QB but the 2nd round pick should really be used to help our first round QB unless there's some clear BPA on defense.

He's 6-6 and has a big arm.

That seems to be the limit of the fascination.

Assweiler is 6-8 or whatever the hell he is and has a... well, it's an arm, I guess.

This has been my thinking the entire time on Glennon.

Molitoth 12-28-2012 11:21 AM

bumping this.

Watch the youtube vids and contemplate WTF Kiper among others are thinking that this kid is going to be better than Geno Smith.

I watched everything with an open mind and I just don't see "it".

O.city 12-28-2012 11:22 AM

TBH, I don't see how you can like Glennon anymore than Bray, for the fact that everything Glennon does well, Bray has done better against better teams.

bevischief 12-28-2012 11:51 AM

I have watch a few and looked up his stats on Glennon and going WTF? I have watched several of Geno's games this year and a few of the other quarterbacks talked about going the first round and still believe Geno should be the first quarterback taken in round one.

BlackHelicopters 12-28-2012 11:54 AM

This !

IMHO, I see the top 5 as..... now where they are selected is the next question. All 5 have the possibility to go 1st rd depending on individual workouts, nothing later than 3rd rd.

1 Geno
2 Wilson
3 Bray
4 Glennon
5 Barkley

Dayze 12-28-2012 12:51 PM

I'd also take a shot on Murray in the later rounds. Chiefs need to come away with at least 2 QBs IMO

Why would you have Bray and Glennon over Barkley? Because they're tall? Wth have they ever done in college? At least Barkley is a winner.

aturnis 12-28-2012 12:54 PM

I'm telling you, the guys upside is Joe Flacco. Period. I am REALLY starting to think Kiper is on the take (as has been rumored) and is talking up certain agents clients. It might not get Glennon taken #1, but might persuade a team to take him in the 1-3 round area.

Barkley was lucky enough to be on a winning team, he is not a playmaker that is short on talent.

He has regressed this year over last year,IMHO has little upside.

The others have more upside.

whoman69 12-28-2012 04:03 PM

With that neck he shouldn't have any trouble seeing over his line. I'd worry about a QB with that low accuracy in college. Kyle Boller has show they don't get better.

Probably because Barkley sucks.
Barkley is on a team that has better talent than most in college and has done less with that talent. His sacks and ints doubled this year from last year. USC finished tied for 5 in the conference. It is a weak conference.

Puke. Face palm.

Hammock Parties 12-30-2012 07:51 PM

One of my friends who covers the Jags said a Jags scout told him that Glennon would be the first QB off the board. Compared him to Matt Ryan.

ChiefsCountry 12-30-2012 07:52 PM

Here's to Vanderbilt destroying the goofy ostrich tommorrow.

KCrockaholic 12-30-2012 07:58 PM

Glennon isn't as bad as some people on here want to think. He's my #2 guy. I wouldn't be excited to get him, but it would still be a good QB, so I couldn't complain too much unless Geno blew up somewhere else.

KC kid 12-30-2012 08:20 PM

Glennon is extremely like Matt Ryan in several ways. Would love him here.

He'll take time to develop though. But so will every QB in this class.

Ace Gunner 12-30-2012 08:32 PM

question on Glennon is mobility within the pocket. He's tall/lanky and so ... ya he's a lumbering type. got to learn better footwork quickly to rock the NFL. Can he do that? **** if I know. probably. but how quickly? that would be a question for his trainer.

I have seen him at #1 on a QB board because of his decision making, mostly. I'd take him over Matt Barkley. Goofy SOB he is.

The Jags also thought Blaine Gabbert was worthy of a top 10 pick...

Not sure I place much stock in the way that group evaluates QBs (though, in fairness, I realize the scout possibly wasn't part of the group that drafted Gabbert).

Gravedigger 12-31-2012 11:08 AM

I think Glennon is Gabbert 2.0. His measurables are getting him more and more hype leading up to draft day, but seeing his competition over the years I'm not entirely impressed. Most of his throws in his highlight reels seem to be when the defender loses a step and you can't bank on that in the NFL. I think Glennon is #3 behind Geno Smith and Tyler Wilson.

CaliforniaChief 12-31-2012 11:12 AM

I think I remember seeing Mike Glennon in Florida once. I was staying at the Animal Kingdom resort and he stuck his head in my window. Good Lord.
