Hard to say for sure. I've had some dang long trips. Springfield to Seattle was a long one. But Farmington, NM to Orlando, FL was probably the longest one.

Mine was 640 miles.

Is your dad Chevy Chase?

From Kansas City to Orlando. Twice.

Kansas City to Phoenix.

Both were driven in a car.

My favorite long trip was leaf peeping in early October. Flew into Albany, rented a car and drove all over the NE up into Maine where we spent our 30th anniversary. Took a different route back. No idea how far we went in the 6 days.

The wife and I drive all over looking at scenery. I never heard it called that before.

I can't remember who he had dead in the car.

Drove from Mesa AZ to KC straight through nonstop except for drive thru and bathroom/gas.

Won't ever do that again either...first time ever I've been "too tired to sleep". Had the jitters from being cracked out on energy drinks.

That last hr was probably the longest hr of my life. You're 99% home but that last 1% takes longer than the entire trip combined, and every little minute thing, noise, driver etc you wanna kill.

If you especially make an effort go find the colors in the fall you're a leaf peeper too.

Great Falls ****ing blows but Montana is pretty neat.

I was only 8-10, but got to experience real mountain life up there... abandoned old mining camps, bear and cougar tracks all around the cabin

Hiking around up there like a master woodsman with his Crossman pellet gun... it’s baked in, formative material

If you've never seen the colors in upper NE I'd recommend it. We didn't have an itinerary and just picked our way on the map. Stopped at all kinds of little stores and antique markets. We'll do it again when we're retired but it will be for more like 2 weeks.

One summer when I was 13, my Dad drove me from Overland Park to all the way up the east coast into Maine. Stopped off at the three big HOF museums football, basketball and baseball. Did a lot of camping and fishing along the way and made short visits to NYC and Boston. By far the best summer of my childhood. Most impressive of all, the trip was made in a 10 year old VW rabbit.
