LATE EDIT: Nothing's confirmed. Tweet I saw was an up close picture of what looked like blood on the slide from a firefighter (not even sure if he's local) and he ended up taking it down. There are still a few grainy shots out there but people are disputing that its blood, saying the stain has been there for a while. There's all kinds of conflicting reports about what happened so I won't speculate until we get more clarification.

Had so much ahead of him and he gets robbed because of a supposed fun day at a water park. Not fair. RIP.

If the safety harness failed and the raft caught air, I'm guessing he caught one of the poles holding up the netting.

There is a video of a run of the ride taken from the POV of a rear facing camera at the feet of the rider. Late in the video, at around the 38 or 39 second mark, there appears to be the beginning of a cage/netting structure that covers a segment of the slide. That's the only point in the ride that I see where a rider could be going fast enough that getting air might lead to a decapitation, and I would imagine that the recirculating pump could bring enough bodily fluid back to the beginning of the ride that there might be a visible red mark of some kind.

The hump in the middle of that thing gave me the willies since the first time I saw it.

What a horrible accident. Thoughts for the family, and the boy.

I see that you are supposed to be at least 14 to ride that thing, too.

There are support hoops the whole way, but only netting on the vertical and hill portion
