I watched "Night Train" last night, it was pretty good

KCChiefsMan 07-12-2009 01:58 AM

I just saw Knowing, starring our favorite actor Nicholas Cage.

SPOILER

I had no idea that the movie was about space aliens coming in as a prophecy to take some kids for their very own adam and eve on another planet when the sun blows up the earth.

Harry Potter 6 at a 97 on Rotten Tomatoes? Is the world ending? Could it top Cuaron's POA? Is it stay close to the book? Closer than 5?

The one complaint I have heard from people that are diehard into the books was that rumor has it that the Gaunts are not in the movie, while they decided to spend the time with the action scene that is not in the book. Reportedly they felt the book was too low on action so they just inserted a random action scene in the middle at the Burrow. If I remember right, Empire Strikes Back didn't have a billion action scenes and people still think it is pretty damn good. Apologies for the cross-geekdom.

Hence why I continue to preach my "the movies made by those growing up reading the books will be better than the current ride-the-cash-wave adaptations".

That is very true. At least this one seems to be a bit more faithful to the book from what I've read so far. Obviously this movie will be defined by the ending, which if shot correctly will be extremely powerful and memorable just like the "I am your father" scene from Empire.

Saw Shooter. Top movie of the decade, imo.

All I know is if they don't get the kiss scene (circumstances rather than acting) right, it's going to blow the movie for me.

Uhh...what?

The Wahlburg/Glover flick or am I missing something.

I enjoyed the heck out of it, but it is not the best movie of the decade.

it was alright, but come on! I can think of 10 other flicks that are much better. But to each their own

Jenson with the sarcastic line of the decade.

Jenson71 07-13-2009 04:44 PM

BEST OF ALL TIME.

Jenson71 07-13-2009 04:47 PM

I thought it was funny though in some parts. Like when he puts on the sunglasses, pauses, and then says something badass, and the final take when he walks away from the exploding house.

It's not as good as Highlander, which won the Oscar for Best Movie Ever.

Buehler445 07-13-2009 05:57 PM

I figured you were joking.
