I heard Trubisky might be comparable to Gannon, anyone else hear that?

According to a source, the Chargers held a private workout with Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes II in Lubbock, Texas, last week.

Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn attended the workout, along with offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and quarterback coach Shane Steichen. Like Mahomes, Lynn also is a Texas Tech product who played running back for the Red Raiders.

Mahomes has been working out north of San Diego at Exos Training facility in Carlsbad, California.

That's a pretty good sign, IMO.

The Chargers aren't using their 1st on him so they think he might be there for them in the 2nd.

I would hope the Chiefs put an end to that nonsense...

If the Chiefs really love Mahomes chances are someone else does as well. I don't think KC can afford to just sit and hope their QB falls to them.

Greg Gabriel

In 2014 I wrote that Derek Carr was hands down the best QB in that class. I feel the same away about Kizer this year

Is it telling that he has to remind everyone he got one correct? Or does he get a lot of them correct? I've not followed him at all.

Some Kizer love from Matt Miller's Friday column...

Quote:

Notre Dame pro day recap:

—Quarterback DeShone Kizer took snaps under center during his workout, and a scout at the event told me he looked "amazing." Former Notre Dame wide receiver Corey Robinson, son of Hall of Fame basketball player David Robinson, was one of Kizer's receivers.

—A Notre Dame source confirmed 27 NFL teams were in attendance for Thursday's workout. San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch was one of those at the event.

—Said one scout, "Kizer's feet are really improved. You can tell he's been working." Another praised the quarterback's poise and leadership on the field during the drills. And finally, one high-level scout complained that Kizer was throwing to "scrubs" who aren't NFL quality, which affected his timing.

—Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes is red hot with NFL teams right now following a strong combine. I'm told by one team scout that the quarterback worked out with the New Orleans Saints and has visits scheduled or has already met with the Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Browns and Chicago Bears.

Mahomes is getting hot, Kizer had a poor showing at the combine, and an inconsistent 2016. I doubt he falls to 27 but I would bet he goes after Mahomes.

Dunerdr 03-24-2017 09:36 AM

Guess I should check him out I'd been mostly writing him off as gone in the top 15
