12 Strong, Lone Survivor, American Sniper.. they're all just 'hey, look at these HEROES and all the heroic shit they're doing out there fighting for your freedoms!' Meanwhile there hasn't been a war fought for American's freedoms in any of our lifetimes.

That’s because those movies are bullshit pro war propaganda. It’s the same with the support the troops nonsense. It’s effective programming because it changes the conversation away from questioning why our country is in never ending wars and occupying other countries.

anyone see Red Sparrow yet? I have the day off tomorrow and am wanting to either see a new film in theaters OR just go see Annihilation again .

Fair point (cause normally a lot of these war films , the characters aren't fleshed out enough) BUT the director of Lone Survivor (Peter Berg) stated that he wanted to share the "brotherhood" of NAVY SEALS and how they lay it all on the line for their country . I was impressed with that film at least . .

oh and I stayed in and watched a Netflix film last night called The Outsider. This literally got shiited on by critics but I liked it for the most part. Jared Leto was pretty good/convincing as the lead .

I really despise those true story military flicks. 12 Strong, Lone Survivor, American Sniper, 15:17 to Paris or whatever the ****.

I ****ing loved Saving Private Ryan and Fury types of movies though.

Idk what the difference is..

I liked Lone Survivor but I agree with you. I'm not interested in 12 strong and you'd have to pay me to watch the Paris movie. I literally cringed when I'd see the trailer play or during tv spots.

And I agree with you on SVP and Fury being great movies. I actually rewatchef Fury just last week. I think the difference is that there is actual character and plot development throughout the movie and it's not just AMERICA, **** YEAH!

Anyway, Fences was pretty good. I'm not sure what the point of it all was, though..

When it ended, me and my girl looked at each other like...wait what? What was the point of anything in that movie if they're going to end it like that?

Not expecting a lot, but looks like a fun time-waster on home video.

watched The Killing of a Sacred Deer last night. jfc what a creepy indie film that was . horrifying at times and very interesting . That kid from Dunkirk was in this and was sensational (scary good). Also, Colin Farrell doesn't get the respect he deserves. GREAT versatile actor imo.

Hurricane Heist. Just No. Had to kill some time and it was the only thing playing, and I stil wish I'd have just sat in the truck.

Could be great, could be crap, but gotta admit that Knoxville adapting the legend of Action Park NJ is a sound concept.

Tomb Raider was completely ridiculous but enjoyable.

Then again, I am a sucker for the pseudo archaeologist adventurer type shit. Love me some Uncharted, National Treasure, Indiana Jones, etc.
