I believe Albert is flying to KC to sign the long term deal that his agent has agreed upon.

You are correct. And if he starts "Casseling" up the joint(can't complete a checkdown, folds under phantom pressure, stares down receivers and doesn't see other wide open and available targets etc.), then it's time to get the **** off the field, wouldn't you say?

of all of our disagreements. I have been clear about that. If you arent winning, because we know that alex smith is not going to be a top 15 qb statistically, then its time to go another way. I completely agree. He has no excuses. He has a top oline, a top running back, a top receiver. 37 tight ends, and the defense will be improved. anything less than 10 wins, and alex smith failed.....

Good. Albert having a great season and buying in will be a turning point for this O line. Who gives a damn where the rookie plays for now?

Unfortunately for us teams don't hire backups because they think they can take over the starter's job. They hire them because they think they can fill in temporarily in an emergency.

best thing that can happen, is fisher at right, and albert at left. Put your best players on the field....

Per Sal Palantonio

2013 NFL 1st round draft picks Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher will both be making the move to right tackle.

Per Chiefsbeef

Albert than was talking to DT Anthony Toribio in the comments, and told him that he "will be there soon"

Don't puss out now. Playing RT never negated the bet.

Mr. Laz 05-06-2013 09:41 AM

sounds like Albert has finally decided to stop bitching and really try to get an extension done with the Chiefs

Geno has all the tools you look for in a potential franchise QB. Why he and the rest of the QB's slipped this year, I don't know. Barkley went in the fourth round this year and last year he was, without question, the third QB off the board behind Luck and Griffin. Matt Scott, the pre-draft darling of the mocksters, didn't even get picked and ended up as a UDFA.

Of the teams that "needed" QB's from an outsiders perspective, a lot of those made off-season moves like the Chiefs or decided to ride out their young QB's for another season (such as Jacksonville).

Sometimes a guy slips for whatever reason. Geno and Matt Barkley did and I think teams are going to end up regretting not taking them when the opportunity was there. There are 23 teams in the league that passed over Aaron Rogers and to a team, all of them would give their eye-teeth to have him on their roster now.

Alex Smith will be 29 in two days time. He's only completed two full seasons out of eight and is coming off a concussion injury this past season. He's a gutty, tough, smart QB, but one that isn't going to take the top off of a defense. And he's going to have to perform at a Pro Bowl level right off the bat if he's going to pay dividends for this team.

I get the Fisher pick. Load up with the best you can to help Alex Smith out up front and to open those lanes for Charles. Calculated, matriculating of the ball up and down the field. Both sides of the ball are built for such a game, but it needs to work right now. In that regard, Fisher is probably a better pick than Geno for that concept. How it plays out in the long run remains to be seen.

are 32 teams pining for Jimmy Clausen?

You can use Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson as examples...but there are hundreds of Clausens that I can use to paint the other picture.

Yes I think it does. That was for him playing LT. It is two different breeds.

It's like he will have to defend against T. Jack and not Tamba Hali in his first game. Big difference.
