Even if he’s fine, they’d be wise to give him a day or two (or three) off.

Back problems for big guys aren't good. Hopefully it's not something that gives him problems all year.

Injuries are always an issue and they don't just go away. When the margins are this thin a little bit of a fall off can hurt.

Look at last year with Berry, Hitchens, Watkins etc.

Once Poe started having back issues, he wasn't really ever the same. Hopefully that's not the case here.

staylor26 07-30-2019 07:53 AM

I get it, but there’s a difference between a herniated disk and your back being sore.

This is highly dependent on what the issue is. For Poe and Ford, they had a problem with a disc in their back and needed surgery to have extra support.

According to reports, Schwartz had his back lock up on him. That sounds pretty normal for many players at the start of camp.

Getting your body in football shape isn’t easy and no matter what you do in the offseason, you can’t replicate being sore from real ball. That’s why Damien Williams is out and Chris Jones was noticeably fatigued yesterday.

KentuckyChief 07-30-2019 07:58 AM

Couple questions, I’m gonna be in Parkville visiting my parents first part of next week. It’s not too far from camp and was thinking about surprising my boys by taking them there. Any idea on costs, things I’d need to know, etc. It’d be for their bday. Thanks

Well, if it's just a tight back that could be an ok thing, but we know Andy isn't exactly forthcoming with injuries so we don't really know.

Any back injury is always a concern, just because a pulled muscle can cause the chain the weaken leading to worse things.

O.city 07-30-2019 08:12 AM

Matt Derrick is on 810 talking about the injuries and such. Pretty good insight.

Doesn't seem to worried about anything right now, saying they won't push anyone this early so unless guys are still out in a few days, then worry.

I'll calm down.

I'm still not sure what compelled the Chiefs to take Fenton in the 6th over Fields. I get that he has a ceiling to him due to his size, but his coverage skills are top notch.

I’m hoping Fields makes Fuller expendable next year. I saw that Fields has top end straight line speed, but goddamn that guy has quick feet.

He could push for snaps in the slot this year. I really think we could have something in him.

"I get that he has a ceiling..."

He's probably ill-suited to play outside, yes.

But SCB has effectively become a starting position these days and in many ways its actually harder to play than out wide. A guy like Fields doesn't get to use the boundary as a 12th defender and has a lot of jet wash to deal with in the middle of the field.

Meanwhile I'm not sure Fenton can play - period.

So if you have a guy like Fields that has so many traits you're looking for in a solid SCB, what the hell are you doing letting him go undrafted? I think they got awfully lucky here because I think the kids a player. My only concern is his focus - there are a lot of whispers about him being something of a space cadet at Clemson. Then again, there were others who said there were times that he was the key defender on that defense in that a focused Fields would take them up another notch.

Fenton has a shot to make it mainly because he's played every DB spot on the field so if they come out of this hating all the backup safeties he could make it because of that.

I just had to go search his name to make sure he wasn't injured.

The only news I can find on him is that evidently Hill torched his ass at some point (not surprising, happens to the best of 'em). But like you said, it's almost complete radio silence out there on him.

He's playing but all we're hearing about with the young guys is Wade and Fields. That cannot bode well for Fenton.

He's basically a backup, it's weird to say but I think he was drafted as a fail safe. Well if everyone sucks we can carry this guy who has a bunch of experience at all the spots and can play specials.

But I don't think he has a great shot of making the team or anything.

DJ's left nut 07-30-2019 08:42 AM

It's been interesting to watch the passing drills and realize that the D is actually getting some wins in there.

You're seeing mostly highlight clips of the offense but when you see Mahomes hit the back of his drop, pat the ball, re-set and then dump to a RB...well that's obviously a coverage W. And in a situation that's built to favor the offense all the way.

Sure, this offense is gonna win a lot of matchups but again...fuuuuuuuuck there are a lot of weapons on that offense. Nobody has what this team has. In fact, with some breaks this could go down as the best offense in NFL history.

Chad Henne could pilot this team to 24 PPG.

So when you're watching some of these clips and seeing guys get beat, let's not forget that these 7 on 7 drills are a defense's nightmare and that you're seeing more stands by the D than it might seem at first blush.

Well hopefully it's nothing and he's just done for the day.

Hog's Gone Fishin 07-30-2019 08:50 AM

****ing Breeland hurts himself then comes back and hurts Ty!!!!!!!!!!

O.city 07-30-2019 08:50 AM

In the passenger tent riding up.

Does that mean anything different than the back?

Easy 6 07-30-2019 08:51 AM

Please God, don’t let this be serious

Hammock Parties 07-30-2019 08:51 AM

Hill was riding in the front seat at least.

If it was really bad he'd be in the back.

Not necessarily.

Hill is fine I bet. It always looks dramatic when he goes down (think about the Ravens game).

Lots of time to recover.

LMAO

We’re even more hated than the pats

Hog's Gone Fishin 07-30-2019 08:53 AM

I already hate Breeland

RunKC 07-30-2019 08:54 AM

I just saw the video and Tyreek held his hand up like he was good.

No I’m not posting it bc the video is from Mrs. Mac-n-cheese

Mecca 07-30-2019 08:54 AM

That hit doesn't look that bad, his legs don't fold up or anything, thinking he got shaken up and because it's practice he's done, if it were a game he'd be fine.

Ramsey is as close as they come.

Harris could do it in his prime but he's a tick slower now.

The Chargers have so much depth in the defensive backfield that I would expect they can mix/match in ways designed to slow him down.

But it's like asking who can man-up Brown or OBJ when they're healthy. Those guys are just so damn quick in/out of their breaks and with their ability to get over top of you you have to give them enough cushion that they are effectively always open.

People talk about Kelce as being a matchup problem but Hill's truly the biggest matchup nightmare in the league right now. His body control and explosiveness are just so unique.

Hog's Gone Fishin 07-30-2019 08:56 AM

Is Breeland on Belechicks secret payroll?

In58men 07-30-2019 08:57 AM

Bench him until week 1

He’s already catching one handed passes and beating fools on the deep. Him and Pat are in sync

Y'all back off my boy. I've been a Fields Stan for a bit (going back to the CP Mock).

I'm still not sure what compelled the Chiefs to take Fenton in the 6th over Fields. I get that he has a ceiling to him due to his size, but his coverage skills are top notch.

Great. Looks like we've got another Fangupo on our hands

Not Breeland's fault, he was playing the ball and he just caught Hill wrong.

If that's Mahomes under center (hard to tell from that distance) then the collision was on Mahomes. He exposed Hill something awful there and really shouldn't have let that ball go. The best case scenario was a 3 yard gain and you just saw the worst.

Your WRs ain't gonna keep going fishing with you if you hang them out like that...

Hey it's a dillemma for these guys. They have to make hard-nosed plays against their own teammates to make the 52 man roster or to at least keep their spot in the depth chart pecking order.
