I think this is the year the next QB after Smith needs to be on the roster. I'm hoping for a QB in the first two rounds.

I think Reid could do a really good job of putting Romo in a good spot of not taking hits bc of his horizontal passes, and Dorsey has provided an above average pass blocking OL.

The problem I see is if we acquired Romo, Andy wouldn't look for a QB in the draft

We'll find out, but I think this is the year a move for future at the position needs to be made. I do trust Reid and Dorsey to make that move.

One of those areas is the play of Alex Smith. Not sure he is capable of consistently doing better than he has been. When you need to have top level play at every poison for the qb to win, there might be an issue.

Now I agree there are issues besides Alex. But that doesn't excuse what his shortcomings are. I also don't think it's realistic for us to mask them against ne.

Agreed. It's way more than 5%, though. In reality, probably 40/60. But, I don't really want to trade to get Romo unless we give up almost nothing. I would gladly cut Alex and take on Romo's contract while drafting a QB or having Foles back him up though.
