Hey Red, hows things?

Got a call this morning that my high school quarterback was dead at 51. Apparently the woman he’d been married to for 5 years left him and took her three kids with her and he went on a 5 month drinking binge. They found him yesterday.

Dude dedicated himself to the slide. Don’t you do that.

Poor soul. Alcoholism is a disease of loneliness. I wonder if she left him because of his drinking.

Apparently not. I was with them last year and they were a fun loving couple. But I don't know the details. He wasn't an alchy though, dedicated to her kids and a good career. Surrounded by friends.


Couple of the guys took him fishing last week, he was so drunk he couldn't sit the boat. Dude took a wrong turn and he just kept going.

I think you're right. Lonely killed him.
