Eric Berry got scared at the thought of playing a team of young male horses and went home.

"THANKS ClUCK"(!) says Berry as he Haglunds out the door and gimp-steps his way to the airport to spend the rest of the winter in the south seas. |

Before anyone says "who cares, it's not our money", if Berry does force the Chiefs to pay the 7.5m next year that counts against our cap which limits the amount of money we have to spend on fixing our defense next year. We don't know for sure yet, but it appears as if Berry is giving Chiefs Kingdom the big middle finger on his way out the door. We'll see |
Thinking about this at lunch today I have to wonder if somewhere between Berry recovering from cancer treatments and the achilles tear he hasn't bought into some holistic healing bullshit and therefore refuses to put painkillers or any other unnatural drugs in his body?
His crazy ass hair and beard does make it look like he has gone a bit off the reservation. I can't imagine players are contractually obligated to take prescription or over the counter pain meds. That would be a pretty shitty deal if thats whats going on but I can't think of another explanation. He won't take the pain killers and he is trying to play without them and it isn't working maybe? |

Yeah, berry isn't a team distraction at all.
|
If LDT is healthy, he starts at RG! Wylie moves to LG and we roll em up. I could see that being the starting lineup next year.
|
Bob Sutton all but said yesterday the uncertainty surrounding Eric Berry's availability is a distraction.
At this point just shut him down and then hopefully both sides can figure out an amicable exit strategy in the offseason that works out for both parties. |

They dont save a dime if he retires, they dont save a penny if they cut him now or had before the season or anytime during the season. |
Chiefs couldn't have possibly handled this any worse if he really doesn't play Saturday.
|
Reid just went on record that they are game planning for Saturday without Berry.
