In my honest opinion, a lot of times when older men hear of a story where a 30 year old got caught banging a 17 year old, they act disgusted to mask their jealousy.

The internet and social media just make it far easier for stories like this to make the rounds. Not to mention, with cell phones, and social media accounts, there is a bigger trail of evidence being left by the people involved, leading to more people being caught.
