Anything less than a bowl berth would set him directly on the hot seat. If this team regresses from last year, it's a 50/50 they shit can him.

Trending South is going to **** this team for years if they keep status quo.

While never a good sign, I think it's better than being like Ned Yost is with players.

But Barry is so smart.

I think if the Tigers regress, and they will, firing Odom isn't out of the question. Will come down to if Sterk can hustle boosters enough and he can guarantee them a good hire.

The promise with BB buys him some clout. Turnover this quickly isn't ideal, but the previous guy had a long tenure and this guy is some other AD's coach.

Praying now.

Christ.

That was the least entertaining game I've been to in a long time. I've been to larger ass-whupins that weren't just the teeth pulling, interminable agony that game was.

They just didn't try ANYTHING on offense. The defense actually showed a spine for parts of the game but how do you have multiple special teams implosions like that?

They were stupid and vanilla as hell. Drew Lock has a damn cannon and one of the better offensive lines in the COUNTRY and all we're getting is interior draws plays and sideways passing?

Cross needed to be fired last off-season but what's any of that have to do with the offense looking like Dave Yost's Bubble Screen Extravangas and the special teams just having their heads up their asses. Oh, and how the **** does a kicker get one blocked from 25 yards when there's no penetration? McCann pretty much kicked it into the line.

The whole team was a ****ing abortion. I hate that so much. I want Barry Odom to succeed so badly. The guy is a good dude and I think a good football coach. But man he looks badly out of his element right now. As a 'team CEO' he just doesn't seem equipped for the job. The worst concerns about his detractors seem to have come to fruition; he needed to take his lumps at a lower level job and learn how to be a head coach, not just a good football coach.

We don't pull teeth. We extract them.

One of the bigger issues, from my untrained eyes, is stupidity. I think we have a few too many stupid players.

Chip Kelly is available.

College kids in large part are stupid, but typically take to coaching and learning fairly well.

A lot of these players were men on a field of boys and now really have to learn the fundamentals of football.

Odom and his staff aren't teaching it. Throwing some athletes on the field and trying to crank it up is a great strategy for the Big 12. We're not a Big 12 squad and the gotta go fast Offense with zero care for Defense is getting them crushed in the SEC.

He needed to figure out an identity that worked for him in a place that would given him the time to work that out....like Memphis.

BryanBusby 09-11-2017 05:23 PM

The only issue with making a change this year will be the numver of teams they will be competing against...even in the SEC.

They could be competing against Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee and maybe Auburn. Would Sterk roll the dice on someone like Lane Kiffin?

Titty Meat 09-13-2017 01:07 PM

Long way to go til national signing day but with so much talent in the state this year its criminal how bad Odom has done.

Are the Chickens that good, or is Mizzou that bad?

Mizzou was quite bad. I'm not completely convinced yet that they ARE that bad, but they sure played like a 3-4 win team on Saturday.

BlackHelicopters 09-13-2017 02:33 PM

Clearly the team is in chaos. Odom is not anywhere close to HC material. Need total rebuild, not piloted by Odom.

Chickens beat NC State the week before, something I did not predict. NC State was great last year, should've won at Clemson. Chickens likely picked up some JUCOs and football stars just out of prison, or something....
