I think he was a perfect target for Veach. Huge value for our O line.

Same. Couldn't hurt to roll the dice on a former 1st rounder from a football factory like Ohio St. Id bet a 5/6th gets in done

Engram for a 6th? He’s cheap this year, and is waaaaay better than any of our backups.

Red Dawg 11-02-2020 09:28 PM

We ain't doing nothing. No trades.

I view our TE position the same as the RB position before Bell fell into our laps.

If Kelce goes down, the cupboard is completely bare. I don’t want that amount of risk for a team with such high hopes. I’d be comfortable giving up a 4th for a legitimate TE2 like Njoku or Engram.

I'd be willing to bet you're right.

Will Hernandez would be a terrific get.

Will Hernandez is on the Giants COVID list. Not sure but that might prevent a trade.

I agree and would like to see a good backup TE. That being said, I would be shocked to see KC invest in someone there.

I could see them maybe giving up a conditional 7th round 2022 draft pick for someone like a Blake Bell. Not real good but maybe better than what we have.

Agreed. I'm not sure why the Chiefs don't pay more attention the TE position. We need a better backup.

I'm all over Njoku if he is really available for a 5th or 6th round pick. I might even agree to a 5th conditional to a 4th.

jjchieffan 11-03-2020 12:42 PM

I've got to think that Cleveland is going to trade him. They kept 5 tight ends this year if I'm not mistaken.

jjchieffan 11-03-2020 12:44 PM

Are these guys all still on the Browns roster?

Tight ends (5): Pharaoh Brown, Harrison Bryant, Stephen Carlson, Austin Hooper, David Njoku

Thanks for the info!!..with Myles Jack could Veach potentially move some pieces to make it work though? Or is that not possible? And who do you think is the better fit in KC out of Jack and Cunningham? Both are 25 so could be here for years.

Hell no to Myles Jack. Remember when Kelce was beating him and Jack totally lost it and got kicked out of the game? He has stability issues.

Njoku's cap number is more than $6 million next year so it would be absolutely ridiculous to give up a 4th or 5th round draft pick for a backup/rental tight end.

No thanks.

Yes he blew up that day but that's one issue during a time when his team was getting rolled all over the field...at least he showed some fight :D .
