Tip of the hat to 'The Man Who Wasn't There,' reference to the UFO siting craze of the late 70s, and deus ex machina to get Short Round into the street.

That's my preliminary take anyway.

Really enjoying this after the first two episodes. Definitely hooked! Loved season 1 as well.

I liked Woodbine, mostly. But they WAY overplayed his messing with the carriage return with the typewriter salesman. He smacked it back to home like 20 times in his little speech.

The mere fact that he did it was annoying enough, but I sensed that they were doing it to add tension to a speech that was otherwise weaker than it needed to be.

Love this show so far. Better than S1 actually.

What do you make of the dismissal of feminine perspectives this season?

Is it a reflection of the time period
A writerly statement on police procedurals
A coincidence
Haven't given it much thought

Speaking of season 1. Did everyone catch that the toady detective that went with Lou to the Dodd compound was the same guy who was Gus' boss last season.

I think we can rule out 'incidental.'

Characters similar to Breaking Bad:
Otto Gerhardt - Hector Salamanca. Both stroke victims
Otto's grandson - Walt's son. Both cerebral palsy victims.

I'm not making a point, just an observation
