He'd probably enjoy Club Romeo

He can go home and sit for 5 games - his contract balloons so they'll have no choice but to cut him and let him become a free agent. Then he can go to the Patriots and compete for a Super Bowl. |

Also, Orton actually played in KC. |
I'm sure he was interested in coming back until they told him he'd be backing up Matty.

If you guys think Belcher sucks in coverage you should LOVE McClain.
Plus, he'll get arrested and bring some much needed attention to KC. *cough* Pass |

A huge ****ing waste. Any team that claims him off waivers is ****ing stupid. |

As for how it made Orton appear? People here STILL clamor for him and blame the Chiefs for letting him leave. Rolando McLain would be doing himself a favor, if the Chiefs are stupid enough to claim him, by just not showing up. The national media would line up to say "I don't blame him, KC is a mess." |

I am not saying I want him. I can just see where this could be a good deal for the team. |

I'm glad he didnt since we have a good shot at Smith now. You don't think McLain would be an upgrade over Belcher? |

McLain said he want's the play for a REAL TEAM. That $4M base salary next year IS huge, in terms of leverage. He needs the Chiefs even less than they need him. If he reports, they're going to use him for 5 games and either cut him or force him to take a pay cut. Either way, he's not getting paid $4M next year. He can accelerate the process by refusing to report and in the process, ensure he doesn't have to play for a clown show like the Chiefs. |

If the Chiefs claim him and he fails to report, do the Chiefs get a compensatory pick?
