Our #1 and #2 to start last year will be battling to make the team. And we still won the SB with them, and didn't even add a guy in season. Crazy.

ForeverIowan 03-14-2024 09:43 PM

Hollywood! Everyone should be rooting for him to have an ENORMOUS fricken year. Keep the 1 year prove it deals coming. Mahomes will deliver you a giant next contract.

If this works out big for Hollywood, it's a great selling point for future free agent WRs who don't like their market.

Whose the other high octane player for Patrick that they are referring to?

Fun math trick.

If you travel 12,000 miles in a year (roughly average American driver), you'll show a greater marginal gain going from a vehicle that gets 12 MPG to one that gets 24 MPG (thus saving 500 gallons) than you would going from one that got 24 MPG to 12,000 MPG (thus saving 499 gallons).

Same story here.

Going from Skyy Moore to Hollywood Brown could end up providing greater marginal benefit than going from someone like Hollywood Brown to Jerry Rice.

The damage done by lousy is damn near incalculable. And if we can get from lousy (Skyy Moore) to mere slightly above average, that's gonna be a MASSIVE improvement for us even if the new addition isn't incredible in his own right.

He’s cheap. There is talent there. And we are finally staffed in a way that I think he could actually contribute.

No, there really isn't.

ForeverIowan 03-14-2024 09:47 PM

Grab Worthy or McConkey and the league is F'ed!

staylor26 03-14-2024 09:48 PM

I'd still take Worthy because he can play the gadget role this year, then take over for Brown after he gets paid elsewhere.

Offense would be absolutely unstoppable this season.

BWillie 03-14-2024 09:49 PM

Holy shit this is an amazing deal for us. He's betting on himself to set him up for a big contract. This is so huge..... paying him less than MVS. The same if he hits incentives

You only draft Worthy if you believe that a successful season from Brown means you let him walk.

If Brown's back after this season, Worthy is layered. I love speed but you can't have both of your speed guys be undersized.

Now maybe Veach intends to do exactly that. But man, if Brown comes in here and clicks and provides the kind of spark opposite of Rice that we want - isn't he a guy you retain if at all possible?

We still need to draft and develop another rookie to help us down the road.
Watson is now where he was always intended to be, a guy that can just break a team on occasion.

I wouldn’t even bring Toney into camp unless he’s going to basically live with Pat over the offseason.

Moore is a bust, a sunk cost. He shouldn't factor into decision making other than as a fringe player.

Yup, going "all-in" without risking too much of the future.

many GMs would be extremely tempted to put a mark like that in the history books and splurge in free agency big time to try and make it happen. It's never been done. But you know Veach and the Chiefs don't just want a 3 peat, they are gonna end up wanting a 4 peat and then a 5.
