There's so much that goes into BABIP.

How much contact do you make?
How hard is that contact. on average?
Are you fast enough to beat out a lot of IF grounders?
Are you hitting lots of line drives?

If you can run like the wind, you hit the ball hard (and consistently hit it hard), you control the strike zone, and you hit a lot of line drives, like Bobby Witt, BABIP is generally going to be higher than average.

Garcia is fast. Hope he is better. Hes been a little disappointing.

From stuff I'm reading...

Erceg has been a solid setup guy, with a 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 41:13 k:BB ratio and has kept runs off the board in his last 12 of 13 appearances. Throws triple digits, is 29 and comes with 5 years of team control.

He's played third and second in his career. Looks like an upgrade over hampson or Frazier.
