Neat but I don't think warrants a new thread, so I'm just gonna put it here...

Clone Wars and Rebels have for and away exceeded all expectations. They aren't kiddie shows, they ARE the story of the Rebellion vs. the Empire. |

Season Four Trailer
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JtigV-biVGg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
The trailer is freakin' dark.
I love the Rogue One tie ins but it's looking more and more like Kanan and Ezra's fate will match those of Jyn and Cassian Andor. |

I just dumped DXD today along with half my cable package, so I'll have to find some other way to watch the final season. :crybaby:
|
These shows good for a 7 year old girl who likes Star Wars but has a hard time paying attention during the actual movies?

The Clone Wars was airing on Netflix and I'd only seen sporadic episodes over the years, so we tried that. She instantly loved it and we finished it up before the premiere of Rebels in 2014. Initially, Rebels quality was behind that of the Clone Wars, not only in story but dialogue and animation. She liked it but not as much as Clone Wars. After the end of Season One of Rebel, she was finally ready to see the movies. But I showed them to her completely out of order as to not spoil the identity of Darth Vader because the Anakin that she knew from Clone Wars was really completely different from the Anakin in the prequels. So it really blew her mind in the reveal during TESB. She'd been trying to guess for a few weeks so when that happened, it was awesome. Now, at age 9, she's all in. Toys, stuffed toys, movie premieres, etc. but she won't watch the Season 4 Trailer because, unlike me, she doesn't want to be spoiled. Oh, and to answer your question, I think she'll be fine, as the episodes are only 22 minutes long but like Clone Wars, so much more enjoyable if Binged, sans commercials as well. |

She loves Rey. Has her outfit from the Disney store. And her main thing was building her own lightsabre when we went to Disneyland 2 weeks ago. |

They're only about 3 minutes long and feature Rey, Leia, Sabine, Jyn, Ahsoka and others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVVa2g4X4MU If she's into those, she'll probably ask to see more about Ahsoka and Sabine. I'd show her Clone Wars, then Rebels. My daughter LOVES Ahsoka. She's an awesome character. |

No lie... Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character.

The question of the season is who or what kills them all.
|
Quote:
That leaves the final 7 episodes for next year, although from my understanding, the 9th episode leads directly into Rogue One. |

Either way, it is going to be a helluva finish. |
Frustrated that they are not offering up season four on their Disney Now app.
|
Quote:
Edit: I just verified that both Season 4 episodes are available on Disney XD and Disney NOW app. |
Logged in and it still only seasons 1-3 for me. Yes, Disney XD is on the account. Whats really odd is when I log out and just search their shows it does show episodes 1 and 2 but as soon as I login season 4 disappears.

I just downloaded and installed the Disney Now app on my iPad 2 and all four episodes from Season 4 are available. Have you tried logging out, deleting the app and reinstalling? I've had to do that from time to time with other apps. |

Great show. My MO is a little more difficult in that I wait until the season is over and then do the marathon, but MAN is it worth it not to have to endure the commercials and waiting from week to week.
The introduction of the Bendu in Rebels and the complete end to the old Jedi order and Sith in Epi VIII pave the way for both sides of the light and dark to be approached from a completely new perspective. I predict that Rey's new Jedi will have more attributes of the "grey Jedi" and will evolve in to something more in-line with what we've read in some of the later 'Legends'-era material, namely the 'Legacy'-series where Jedi were allowed to marry and could use certain powers that were forbidden to the traditional Jedi. As to the dark side, I believe Ren will ultimately succumb to the temptations that make all Sith what they are, though he will struggle with taking the steps necessary to achieve greater power in the dark side of the force. Again, he will probably take an arc similar to Jacen Solo in the 'Legacy' material. |
Just watched the two latest episodes. Pretty dark stuff for the Disney Channel.

Witness an older, pre-Pixar movie such as "The Black Cauldron". There were some VERY heavy and dark themes/imagery in that film and in others. "The Secret of NIHM"? Oh yes... |
Quote:
Honestly, I've loved the Disney/CNW SW's stuff twice as much as the films they've made the last 10 years... |

That was a pretty trippy episode. Lots of cool cameos. Also adds a pretty odd new angle to the history of the Jedis.
|
That was a very enjoyable episode. Explains the whole "Ahsoka walking through the tunnel" glimpse we got after her fight with Vader.
The very first thing I thought when I saw the "World Between Wolds" place was that they just created their deus ex machina to get Luke into Episode IX, sans Force Ghost. |
Wow. A cartoon hasn't made me cry in awhile but Kanan's death did it.
Binge-watching this shit tonight in prep for the last two episodes. |
Also, gotta say actually seeing a Noghri warrior is really cool.
|
Lol, no tears for me when Kanan died, but I did NOT see that coming.
And that Noghri is a bad ass. |
Dave Filoni managed to combine Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Stargate, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and not make it feel like a ripoff.
God he's ****ing incredible. |

The animation was excellent and way beyond how the series looked when it began back in 2014. I really enjoyed the final two episodes although:

That's one of the best depictions of the hero's journey I've seen.
Ezra's growth in power and maturity was incredible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
After watching the finale again, this film “felt” like Star Wars, so much so than the prequels and the “ahem”, new trilogy.
|
The new trilogy is far better than the prequels, though that isn't really saying much.

Quote:
The final 7 episodes, especially the last 4, were as good as anything in the Star Wars Galaxy, ever.

Must...not...SPOIL.

Not sure where best to post this:
The Juilliard School announced today that it has received a bequest from Academy Award-winning composer and conductor John Williams of his complete library of concert music and film music scores as well as his sketchbooks. http://slippedisc.com/2018/03/just-i...-to-juilliard/ |
What a great show. I would have preferred them end it a little closer to Scarrif, or maybe right after, but I am completely satisfied with how it was done. Ezra is one of the best done characters in all of Star Wars. I also really like the way they broke away from the narrow dogmatic view of good vs evil and light vs dark. Give Filoni a new project.

This is true. I finished my season 4 marathon and walked away both happy and sad. Happy that SOMEONE still understands what the **** SW truly is, and sad that Disney/KK have just completely ****ing lost focus. It's gone. ALL gone. There will never be another trilogy movie worth two ****s; it's just over. And 'Resistance' just looks like shit. I'm not watching some cheap-assed anime-looking bullshit with 'Battle of the Planets'-characters that could only appeal to pre-teens. Anywho, Rebels was great. Pure greatness. Great characters with stories that draw you in and keep you posted. "Jyn Erso"? Who gives a ****? Just ****ing horrible what this franchise has become. Not everything was meant to be the ****ing Marvel/DC universe with 800 films. |
