Nnamdi Asomugha is a cautionary tale of why this team shouldn't give the farm for Patrick Peterson.

That guy just like Peterson was a multiple probowler and all-pro, he signed with the Eagles in at 30 years old and his play just fell off a cliff.

That's just the reality of CBs approaching 30 years old.

I'd love PP for the right price but no to a 1st round pick.

I'd give our first next year but not a penny more. That first offer is a lot more than we gave for a younger Clark. They are on drugs.

We have Mahomes, though. That’s the difference between 2012 Philly and KC.

And all I said is that this smells like the "super" team Reid put together. It may not be an apples to apples situation but let's maybe slow the roll here and reduce the asking price for PP.

people are hype right now that Fuller, Ward, Breeland is some savior core based on "they gotta be better than last year." But when its week 12 and they are getting roasted people will turn on them and wish they had Peterson for the stretch run.

Or maybe they really do think Thornhill is all that, I couldn't say. Whatever the case, Patrick Peterson was not their first plan / first choice in the pursuit of a cornerback. If he were, this deal would already be done. How do I know this? Well, ask yourself this question; how long does our GM **** around waiting to pick up talent that he wants? No time at all. Zero. Zip.

Also, thank you to all posters for not quoting SCROATO's ramblings, as they are an affront to God's eyes and make the baby Jesus weep.

He has also shown great patience at times. He had Watkins on his radar for over a year for example. If Veach really does want PP here he will wait until the price is right. If this does not happen before the season I still would not be surprised if PP is traded at the deadline which could be a great pick up for the stretch run and playoffs!

Petersen is 26? 4 years is a huge difference in football.

Edit:28

And a more motivated trading partner in the Vikings with their cap issues. :)

Dont the vikes have to pay most of his contract if they trade him?

Doesn’t make much sense on their part

So he's almost 30, which is almost 32. He's practically 35 and washed up.

IIRC, Cardinals shut him down after about 8 games in 2 of his seasons in the NFL. Don't have time to check, sorry, but pretty sure about it.

Mecca 05-10-2019 12:01 PM

Patrick Peterson has played in 16 games every year of his career, so he's durable.
