the source, Decline of Western Civ 2: Metal Years, used to be the only way to listen to this song.

I got into the hair metal a little back in the 80’s when it first got started but all the copycat crap soured me pretty quick. My unpopular take is Metallica is boring and monotonous

Funny. I'd put Maiden a little lower on my list but my top 4 are Dio, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Motorhead.

Ever heard Voivod's cover of Astronomy Domine by Pink Floyd. It's really killer.

I recognize Tony Iommi in the middle. I think the guy on his right is either George Michael or Paul Mitchell (the hair guy). Not sure about the other 3.

the hair guy is Glenn Hughes, the voice of Rock. the drummer, Eric Singer is the blonde. Geoff Nicholls is the old guy on the end. He was Sabbaths keyboard player from Heaven and Hell onward.

The moody, goth sound of Type O Negative is doing it for me today. Bloody Kisses is a classic album.

Draconian is an amazing mix of beautifully haunting clean vocals and brutal vocals.

Just wish some of these bands could do something other than the death grumbles.

Everything about this is fantastic....'cept for death grumbles. It's the one aspect of some this heavier stuff that i just cant get into. Ruins it for me.

Stop being so closed-minded. 😉

I used to feel the same way, then something changed for me when I heard my first melodic death metal album, Swamplord by Kalmah. It certainly isn't for everyone.

I still can't stand some harsh vocals. Especially deathcore/metalcore. The frantic/hysteric harsh vocals are a total no for me.
