I can't believe the amount of pessimism here today.

Not pessimism, just the reality of how they've looked so far. The good news is they have room to improve. You would rather get better as the season goes along instead of being a team that looks incredible the first few weeks and then drops back down to reality later in the season.

Seth is dumb. I love Wharton’s potential but his own teammate took him out.

Yep.

There's just no such thing as a must-win game this early in the season, especially when you have Mahomes.

They're going to be fine no matter what happens.

It's just the hand-wringing over the defense that kills me - this is the EXACT thing that happened before last year's game and we all saw how that turned out.

It was an impressive performance. But it was last year. They could just as easily do the same thing again tonight or get absolutely torched. It could go either way.

I’d like to see a NASCAR package of Clark-Jones-Charlton-Danna

Has Lamar Jackson led a successful comeback yet from a legit deficit (not just being down by one score early in a game)?

Jump out to a lead early and force Lamar to play from behind with forced passing situations.

The defense last year wasn't impressive at all.

You don’t think the offense looked sharp against Houston?

It certainly did.

All this pessimism based on the Chargers game is weird, IMO; San Diego specifically is designed to match up against KC’s offense.

Houston game was good, but could have been better. Given the weapons on the Chiefs, they have a very high ceiling. I don't think they were anywhere close to that ceiling against Houston.

And that’s why I hate the new format. I think we’ll see way more teams resting starters at the end of the season.
