On one hand I'm glad they didn't overreact and give it to Ace out of sympathy. But Hoz? Is this player voted?

It's a vote of some sort. Definitely with players, maybe with coaching staff too, but don't quote me on that.

I'd be happy with Zimmer being healthy enough to give a few spots starts in the rotation and maybe some bullpen innings to end the year.

I'm not holding my breath.

Most of you guys will disagree with me but I think if Zimmer is finally healthy, this could be the year he makes it to the starting rotation for the Royals. He only has 222 total innings in the minors but his ERA overall is 3.24. He'll be 26 this year and some say his stuff is the best they've seen. If that's true, I hope he forces their hand and makes it to KC.

Zimmer is another Charles or Houston.

Meh. These tributes are lame. He was a pretty good player but hardly a pillar in the community or face of the franchise. Most of our fans, not me, wanted him traded last year anyway

You seem nice.

Charles and Houston kill it when they are healthy.

Zimmer has been Moeaki.

Anyone making it to Fan Fest?

Great comparison, except Moeaki actually played in a a few games :)

Bubba Starling is Knile Davis.

Seemingly all the talent in the world, no ability to actually play the sport.

Moeaki at least saw the field a few times. This guy is more like the Chiefs 2016 1st round pick than anything.

No. Zimmer can actually play.

Bubba is an athletic freak who lacks baseball skills. There are a lot of them, and KC is far from the first team to get burned with one. Won't be the last, either.

Zimmer just has a glass arm that popped up basically out of nowhere. He's more Mark Prior ... without the productive first few seasons.

Maybe the thoracic outlet surgery finally fixed his problem and will let him succeed.

But probably not. TOS has pretty bad outcomes historically, IIRC.

I was chatting with a fellow former Kansas Citian about the Royals this week and he asked about Bubba Starling.

I realize that teams miss on players far more than in football because it's difficult to project these kids, especially teenagers, years, if not a decade, in advance.

But holy crap, the Royals passed on Francisco Lindor, Sonny Gray, Jose Fernandez, Javier Baez, Matt Barnes and Joe Panik, just to name a few.
