Zimmer will never be healthy. Health is a skill and Kyle Zimmer doesn't have it. |

There's an argument to be made that Chris Young had the worst season as a starter in major league history last year. Young is the only player in baseball history to accrue more than 50 SP innings in a single season with a FIP Minus above 190. He was worth nearly 2 losses in a mere 58 innings as a starting pitcher last year (though had some positive value in relief). And let's not forget that he was on the scrap heap some time ago before the Royals salvaged him. The 'salvage' was the likely blip as he's only gotten older and less sharp since. If Chris Young is throwing innings as a starter for you, things have gone horribly, horribly awry. |
At this point, if Zimmer is staying healthy to start the season, then I think the Royals will shuffle him to the bullpen to keep as little mileage on his arm as possible.

No way of praying / hoodoo magicking / hoping that Zimmer makes it through Spring training healthy but also looking effective and making a change-of-scenery trade with someone?

His value is as a one to three inning guy out of the bully, that's it. |

Eric Hosmer just won the Royals player of the year award. ROFL
Duff won Royals pitcher of the year. |

I should have said "relatively healthy." KC can afford a DL stint here and there or even a 30-day trip. But if one of those guys blows a UCL or shoulder or etc, it's hard to see a path back from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
