He looked fine the other day, just not enough time on the field.

The only drama EB has created is the drama with the fans because everyone was so nervous for so long about this defense.

Fact is, everyone turned on Berry because of how badly they want him on the field.

And they wanted him on the field badly because he himself sold the idea that we needed him more than he needed us by pouting like a child and running to Clark for backup when the GM rightfully told him we would keep and pay him, but we weren't going to bend over for him.

If these guys want to listen to his "priceless" pep talks and respond to them, who am I to give a shit? If the ClUCK's want to keep him around for another year in his role as a sideline shaman straight out of the Serengeti, it's no skin off of my ass. That said, let's cease and desist with this "day to day" horse shit, pretending that Berry is a football player, and list him appropriately at the website as our million dollar Hobospirit.

Lol, he's not retiring with the contract he's on.

Normally I'd agree, but lets be honest, he's going to get cut. And Clark has been really REALLY good to him. I wouldn't be surprised if he did something to repay the kindness this organization has showed him.

I'm not sure. He has 100% been a player coach this season. I'm interested to see how it works and I don't want to see him go, but safeties drop in production like a brick.

This is by far the biggest game of his career. If he can't suck it up and give it a go then Berry should never show his face in the city again.

This is what it comes down to.....plain and simple.

CoMoChief 01-14-2019 03:48 PM

He was being held out all season so he could be good to go in the postseason.

That didn't happen.

If he can't be healthy enough to go in the playoffs, then he's done in KC as far as I'm concerned. I think a deal was made (w/ Andy/Veach/Clark) along the lines of "Hey we'll keep you on active roster so you can get all of your bonuses and signing bonuses etc etc", and Berry is just going to retire.

I just don't understand why he didn't get the surgery back in Aug...because now at this stage if he were to get it done now, he won't be play at all next season either and I doubt any team signs him going forward.

The whole way this was handled was very odd.

Wanted....

And that he stayed too quiet for most of our liking. The way this was handled, fan-facing, has been a complete failure... HIPPA be dammed...

Like what? Give back some of his contract $ ???

I mean we'd all love nothing more than for that to happen because it helps the Chiefs, but that's not a likely scenario.

Berry will ride out this season on the bench, he'll get his salary plus all bonuses etc, and then will retire or the Chiefs release him post June1.

CoMoChief 01-14-2019 04:02 PM

IMO I don't want Berry testing his gimp foot in the most important game in Chiefs modern history.

I dont know why anyone else would either. Dude has 2yrs worth of rust on him...screw that. He's not going to come in and immediately be his former All-pro self. I don't know why people think that...just because "He's Eric Berry" ? Cmon...

ROFL

Oh, sorry, that was a serious question . . . . . .

No and don't need him. Did just fine without him last weekend.

Don't need his 'spirit' messing things up for us.

Goes out on top.

He is not giving the Chiefs an out on his contract. ROFL

He is going to make them pay and pay and pay. Then he will force them to pay out the ass on an injury settlement.

Then he will suddenly get better and get a contract from another team and make the pro bowl. Giving the Chiefs the middle finger during halftime.

No other team is doling out that level of cash for spiritual cheer leading.

This is it.

It's ovah.

Yea, you could be right. It's probably just me expecting the worst from people.

Given the stakes - if Berry was healthy enough to play he would be playing.

The fact he's played less than a game all year while being "day-to-day" tells me he either needs surgery to correct a problem or he needs to retire.

I hope he has surgery and comes back as strong as ever but I'm not optimistic.
