Yep.

I'm working on my team now. Just gotta review the draft.

35 players is going to mean that there is going to be a lot of scrubs playing if there are injuries. For instance....35 players equals out to be.

QB - 2
RB - 2
WR - 4
TE - 1
LT - 1
LG - 1
C - 1
RG - 1
RT - 1

LE - 2
NT - 2
RE - 2
LOLB - 2
LILB - 1
RILB - 1
ROLB - 2
CB - 4
FS - 2
SS - 1
K - 1
P - 1

Is that really enough? I'm thinking that we should cut it down to 8-10 scrubs.....or maybe less.

Rainman - can you please set a "LOCK" date on these? That would allow early birds to make changes up until the date you set, and ensure that we identify the teams that flake out well ahead of training camp.

Thanks for organizing this. Should be a lot of fun.

What do you mean by "LOCK" date?

It's a deadline for picking your draft decisions. Early birds (like the ones who have responded so far) aren't "locked" until that date, and anybody who fails to get their picks in prior to that date is disqualified.

Maybe one alternative to being disqualified would be they are forced to go with status quo Chiefs draft for that given year.

Can I get in on this? I want Spokane if so.

I like this. Maybe we lock as of 10 days before Chiefs training camp starts.

And I like the status quo draft thing for late arrivals, too. Let's do it.

Two thoughts:

1. Remember that you can draft undrafted rookies, so you don't have to select only guys who were drafted.

2. Just a thought: what would people think about this option? Using the NFL draft value chart, you can trade up or down by paying a premium of 15 percent. In other words, you can trade up if you pay at least 15 percent more than the stated value of the draft, or you can trade down if you accept 85 percent of the stated value of the picks you're losing. And any trades have to be with one other NFL team, not a combination. If we did this, I think we'd have to not allow trades using future year picks since there's no third-party table of those values. If people like it, let's do it, but otherwise I'm not hard-core about it.

This is a good point.

My initial thinking was that I didn't want people to just end up with the final 53 other than their draft picks, so I wanted to go lower. I thought maybe we could ramp the number up each year as the teams start to diverge from each other.

Should we start at 40?

And I guess maybe it doesn't make a lot of difference now that I think about it, because since we're all picking from a pretty similar pool (other than draft picks), most of us would have the same scrubs anyway.

What do others think?
