A starting lineup of
Harris Barnett Porter Jr Knox Tillman I know that would have Barnett out of position I believe or you could switch him and porter but man this would be insane. |

If he gets his release within the next few days, he could be at Mizzou with MPJ, Knox, et al.

It's just impossible to overstate how important seeding is. Getting a team through clean to the Sweet 16, especially a young one that needs to see some live fire, is enormous. If that team comes out and goes .500 through non-con play, they're setting themselves up to have to scramble to get into the tournament at all. If they enter the conference slate at 6-6, they'd likely need to go 16-6 over the last 22 to get in and even that may not be enough. That's the thing with these rebuilds when they get down to the studs; if you completely gut a team, you need them to get together in a HURRY or your margin for error has pretty well vanished. 16-6 is tough sledding even for a solid, veteran team. When you're looking at an extremely talented but extremely young team in a conference that has Kentucky and Florida, not to mention a hell of a lot of genuinely good coaches on lesser programs that could jump up and bite you at any time. But man, get out at 10-2 and you're off to the races with a shot at a genuinely good seed. |
Damn - the reasonably cheap seats are gone, leaving pretty much nosebleeds or the $850/st or better season tickets.
****ed off and didn't make up my mind for too long. Idiot. |
