They were stress testing?

Over live traffic?

Before the central tension suspension installed?

WTF?!?!

May have been an edit after you read the article, but this is telling:

Late Thursday, came the first definitive word from a government official about what was being done on the bridge when it fell. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL, said in a Twitter post that: “The cables that suspend the #Miami bridge had loosened & the engineering firm ordered that they be tightened. They were being tightened when it collapsed today.”

If the suspending cables pass through the concrete, makes me wonder if they snapped during the tests & the whole structure was tgen supported by just the concrete.

Great shades of the T-Dance skywalk collapse.

It doesn't look to be a support problem in the sense most think.
It's looking to be a problem of lay construction crew not realizing the consequence of their actions.
This is post-tensioned concrete, and while the tensioning steel was probably well-rated to carry the load asked of it under the construction plan, it had a brittle failure when the construction plan was altered in a way that placed the tensioning steel under unforeseen stress.

The best lay analogy I can think of if you tried to winch your friend's car out of a ditch. Suppose you use the appropriate winch and attach it at the approropriate points, but you don't notice that there is a curb at the edge of the ditch that the wheels have to travel over. Then, when the wheels hit the curb they snag, you're suddenly lifting the entire car off the ground, placing exponentially higher stress on the configuration than you would be simply pulling the car up an incline out of the ditch.

The original plans were for the moving supports to distribute the load differently, and the alteration created a high-stress area in the span while it was being placed. Then they noticed the flexion and sought to correct it by tightening the tension steel. This put the steel into failure range, but the gauges couldn't tell the worker's that, because as the tension steel approaches brittle failure, it stretches slightly so that additional tension doesn't create additional pressure, kind of like a rubber band at the end of its elastic range.

The failure to see the consequence of the change in construction plans is one thing, the decision to attempt to repair while suspended over active traffic is another entirely.

Florida woman 'marries' tree to protest development

There was a lot of news this past weekend, so you might have missed that item about the Florida woman who married a tree.
It happened Saturday in Fort Myers, and it appeared to be a rather traditional wedding, complete with a ring bearer, a bride in a white gown, flowers, music, and a wedding cake that had the words, “Higher Love” on it.

It was an outdoor wedding, which I guess happens a lot when one of the participants is a tree, especially a giant ficus tree with an 8,000-square-foot canopy.

The bride, Karen Cooper, married the tree three days before its fate was scheduled to be decided by the city’s Beautification Advisory Board, according to the Fort Myers News-Press.

The city had earmarked $13,000 to chop down the 100-year-old tree because even though it was planted on public property, its roots and branches had meandered onto a piece of private land which was the subject of a sale, the newspaper reported.

Cooper, like many of her neighbors, have enjoyed the shade and look of the big tree in Snell Family Park. After the city’s public works department gave the green light on removal, Cooper took matters into her own hands.

Would she? Yes, she wood.

She vowed to be faithful to the tree until death do them part. Which could be Tuesday.

“If they cut down this tree, I’m going to be a widow,” Cooper told the newspaper, sounding very much like the sappy one in this relationship.

Then again, her limb beau is in limbo.

It’s not the first time a Florida woman has turned to marriage with a non-human partner to make a point.

Seven years ago, shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the landmark Citizens United case that corporations have new rights that had previously only been available to people, Sarah “Echo” Steiner of Lake Worth announced that she was looking to marry a corporation.

“It would be an open marriage,” Steiner said. “I don’t think I could keep a whole corporation satisfied.”

Steiner, a former co-chair of the Green Party of Florida, said she’d be weighing how her corporate suitors behaved “in past mergers” and that, yes, she was looking forward to having “subsidiaries” some day.

Compared to a corporation, a tree seems like a much more suitable partner.

If Cooper’s wedding ceremony ends up stalling or eliminating the tree’s demise to the big wood chipper in the sky, this could turn out to be one of those precedent-setting stories.

Not that the state of Florida would recognize such a marriage. But if conducting a symbolic public wedding turns out to be a cure for saving endangered elements of Florida’s natural beauty, there’s no telling where this will lead.

As in, “Mom and Dad, I would like you to meet the man-atee in my life.”

Or, “By the power invested in me by the Audubon Society, you may now peck the beak of the Florida grasshopper sparrow.”

Estuaries and wetlands will be snapped up like Palm Beach trust-fund race-car drivers. And the label of “tree hugger” will no longer be a strong enough expression to describe these new nuptials.

Let’s face it, women can do a lot worse than marrying a tree. Florida has the seventh-highest divorce rate in the country, and for those who are married three times, the divorce rate in that third marriage is about 73 percent.

So rather than looking for Mr. Right on try No. 4, it might be worth transitioning to something deciduous rather than duplicitous.

Sure, there are disadvantages. Trees never pick up after themselves. And who wants shrubs at your age, or a 100-year-old spouse with no sign of dying anytime soon?

But if you’re into the strong, silent type who will always be there, no matter which way the wind blows, well, then you might be ready for a tree.

Good luck, Mrs. Ficus. We’re rooting for you very mulch.

A Florida woman reportedly in a “romantic sexual relationship” with her brother was charged after giving birth to his baby, officials said. Pauline Elizabeth Martin, 33, told investigators she and her brother were living as a couple in Groveland when she became pregnant with his child, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Authorities said they began investigating the woman, who is a McDonald’s cashier, after the baby was born Nov. 21 with “severe medical problems.” The newborn was immediately transferred to get specialized care at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, where genetic testing revealed the parents were related, the Daily Commercial reported. Neither parent completed the information .

A woman in Florida who was arrested on suspicion of drug possession claimed cocaine found on her must have flown into her purse because it was a windy day.

Kennecia Posey, 26, said she had no idea how the drug was found on her after she was pulled over by Fort Pierce police on March 21, reports WPLG.

“I don't know anything about any cocaine,” she told officers, according to a police report on the incident. “It’s a windy day. It must have flown through the window and into my purse.”

Posey was one of two people in the car when it was pulled over by police after it was seen swerving on the road.

The officers searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana as they approached. During the search, officers found bags of cocaine and marijuana inside Posey’s purse.

Posey admitted the marijuana was hers, but maintained she had no idea how the cocaine ended up inside her purse.

The 26-year-old was arrested and was charged with a felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession. She was later released on bond.

In November, two teenage boys in Sydney, Australia, were found with more than 40 bags of cocaine stuffed into their car's doors. They claimed they were just out to go fishing, despite not having any rods.

The 17- and 18-year-old males said it was a "big surprise" when the bags of cocaine were found hidden inside their Mazda 3's door panel and denied they were about to go on a cocaine run.

“We were going to [Sydney suburb] Ryde but came in here instead to go fishing,” the 17-year-old suspect told The Sunday Telegraph.

The pair were later charged with a series of drug offences.

St. Pete man on LSD punches 13-year-old girl in face, knocks her out

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) - Pinellas County deputies have charged a St. Petersburg man with aggravated child abuse after he punched a 13-year-old girl, causing her to lose consciousness.

According to the sheriff's office, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Saturday at a Race Trac gas station, located at 2551 54th Avenue North in unincorporated St. Petersburg.

Kolbe Smith, 27, allegedly struck the victim in the face, unprovoked.

Smith hit the victim with such a force, she lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

Deputies say the girl's mother witnessed the assault.

Several citizens stood outside of the store and would not let Smith leave after the incident.

The first deputy to arrive tried to put Smith in custody, but he refused.

Deputies used a Taser on Smith, as he would not comply.

The 13-year-old girl was treated at the scene by EMS and was released to her parents, who took her to the hospital.

Deputies took Smith into custody after he was taken to the hospital for a laceration on his head.

When Smith was questioned by deputies, he denied having any recollection of the incident and admitted to taking the drug LSD.

Smith is charged with one count of aggravated child abuse, violation of probation felony battery and resisting arrest without violence.

A Florida man interested in karate is alleged to have found an elusive and illegal target for his kicks: bird faces. Last week, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Rocco Joseph Mantella was arrested for “practicing karate” by kicking swans in the head at a park in downtown Orlando, and further details of his arrest—which were first published by the Bloody Elbow—are wild.

According to an Orange County (Fla.) arrest affidavit, Mantella was spotted by a few witnesses around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, kicking a bunch of animals. Someone saw him kick one swan in the head and another in the butt while “practicing karate.” His kicks were enough to knock one swan down, and a witness said he was kicking “as hard as possible.” Mantella also apparently targeted a small duck enjoying a morning nap. When one witness saw what he was doing, he apparently began to laugh at her.

Mantella was charged with one count of cruelty to animals, which carries a maximum sentence of six months in Florida.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —

A 95-year-old grandmother in Florida was arrested Saturday after police said she slapped her granddaughter in face with her slipper before calling 911 to get her out of the house.

According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Hattie Reynolds told police her granddaughter, Janeen Williams, 46, would not get out of bed, and that she was "tired of her staying in bed all day soaking up the air conditioning."

When officers arrived at the home, Williams told police she did not want to press charges, but because of "strict domestic violence laws" Reynolds was arrested.

According to a Florida statute, police officers have the ability to determine if an arrest is needed in a domestic violence instance once probable cause is established.

"If your wife reported that you threatened to hit her, you would be arrested because that is a domestic violence assault," police Chief Craig Capri told the News-Journal. "I just feel bad for her but the officers did their job as required by the law."

Reynolds was booked in the Volusia County Jail and released the next day on her own recognizance.

Largo couple steals motorized shopping cart from Walmart

A joyride in a motorized shopping cart landed a Largo couple behind bars on Thursday.

Security cameras were rolling when Jeffrey Robert Sabiel, 50, and Santa Marie Walters, 32, stole a motorized shopping cart from a Walmart located on Missouri Ave. in Largo, according to an affidavit.

The couple was seen driving off the property and heading west on Rosery Road. News Channel 8 has not obtained the video in question.

Shortly after the theft was reported, the cart was spotted outside Jimmy's Sports Bar in Largo and an officer found the couple at the bar.

After denying the theft, the couple admitted to taking the cart and was arrested on charges of grand theft.

They were both booked into the Pinellas County Jail

A man is accused of attacking a deaf couple and their service dog while they were travelling on a plane headed toward Orlando.

The incident happened as Matthew Silvay, 30, and Hazel Ramirez, 21, were on Frontier Flight 1752 as it left Colorado Springs on its way to Orlando on May 17, according to an Orlando Police Department incident report.
Ramirez, who is 20 weeks pregnant, and Silvay were also travelling with their service dog, a Great Dane named Zariel. When the plane was descending, Petrini Manley, 56, complained to her husband Timothy Manley, 59, that she was allergic to dogs, the arrest report read.

And as the plane landed and headed toward the gate, Zariel woke up and stood up.

"The larger service animal took up more space than Timothy felt it deserved and punched it with a closed fist, causing it to yelp," the arrest report read. "The dog Zariel shook her head and went under a seat."
The couple became upset and "began yelling at Timothy as best they could," the arrest report read. That’s when Timothy Manley "reacted by getting in Matthew’s face" and punching Hazel in the stomach at some point, police said.
The conflict spilled into the airport terminal as a flight attendant contacted law enforcement. Silvay told law enforcement that he tackled Timothy Manley and held him down until they arrived. All people involved in the incident refused medical attention, police said.

The FBI is looking into the incident, and Ramirez plans to press charges. It’s unclear what charges Timothy Manley will face, according to the arrest report.

Social media users were horrified following a viral video that showed a woman shaving her legs at a public pool in Florida.

The video showed an unidentified woman sitting by the edge of a pool, shaving her legs as children swam nearby. The children did not appear to notice the quick shave.

https://youtu.be/mjCOqiWogok

The people who captured the moment on video were heard saying, “Oh my God! This lady is shaving in the pool!”

“I hope she don’t shave her hoo-ha next!” the woman recording was heard saying.

Fortunately, the video cut off at that time. The video was uploaded to Reddit on Monday where it received more than 55,000 upvotes and 1,600 comments. However, the post was later locked which barred people from adding additional comments or upvotes.

“Of course this happened in Florida. It’s the trashiest state in the union,” one social media user wrote.

“Yeah I used to work at a public pool and for whatever reason they attract the worst of humanity. I would never swim in a public pool after that experience,” another person wrote.

It was not immediately clear where the public pool was located or if there were any rules posted by the pool. The Orlando Sentinel reported Florida has “extensive statutes regarding pool safety” which include swimmers to bathe before entering a pool and “no spitting or bodily fluids in the pool.” However, there appear to be no statutes against shaving in a pool.

Police: Woman Named Crystal Methvin Arrested For Having Crystal Meth

https://cbstampa.files.wordpress.com/2018/05/meth.jpg?w=240&h=300

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (CBS Local) – A Florida woman’s name made for an interesting police report in St. Augustine, particularly since it happened to match the crime she’s accused of committing.

Forty-year-old Crystal Methvin was taken into custody after being charged with possession of crystal meth, according to the St. Augustine Police Department. Methvin was arrested on May 26 after officers got a tip that a woman was sitting in a car on the side of a local highway.

When police arrived, Methvin only had a Florida ID card and didn’t have her driver’s license. As officers searched the car they reportedly discovered crystal meth in a plastic bag in Methvin’s purse.

More unused plastic bags were allegedly found in Methvin’s purse, leading police to believe the suspect was selling the drugs, according to WJAX. The St. Augustine woman faces a third degree felony charge for possession of meth.

She’s being held in jail on $5,000 bond.

Crystal Methvin’s alleged crystal meth was taken by officers as evidence.

TAMPA, Fla. — A political argument on Facebook led to a 44-year-old Florida man driving to the home of a stranger he'd been arguing with and shooting him.

Now Brian Sebring faces felony charges of aggravated battery and carrying a concealed gun. Sebring tells the Tampa Bay Times he "just snapped and let primal rage take over" on Monday.

Sebring says he was responding to a felon who wanted to share his political opinions even though he'd lost the right to vote. He says Alex Stephens took the fight to private messenger, where it escalated.

Police say Stephens was shot in the thigh and buttocks and was treated at a hospital. Sebring spotted a police officer on his way home and turned himself in.

Sebring says he's ruined his life "all because of some keyboard gangsters."

http://www.nbc-2.com/story/38957481/florida-man-threatens-co-worker-with-box-cutter-in-argument-about-christian-music

A Florida man is accused of threatening a co-worker with a box cutter over an argument about Christian music.

Caleb Taylor Robinson, 26, was at a warehouse on Big Pine Key where he and a co-worker were cooking hamburgers, drinking beer, and listening to music. Deputies said Robinson demanded the music be changed to Christian music, but his co-worker refused. That's when Robinson used a box cutter to threaten the man, according to the report.

The victim retreated to the bathroom and called 911. While in the bathroom, Robinson beat the door and caused about $200 - $400 in damage, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies found Robinson on the side of the warehouse sleeping in the backseat of a car. The deputy said Robinson claimed he would "prophesize hell onto" the deputy for shining his flashlight at him. Other deputies heard Robinson say he would "prophesize all the pain for hell," on them.

Robinson then preceded to tell deputies he had visions that his co-worker would be injured badly on a construction job. Then he said he would slit the man's throat and throw him into a wood chipper. Robinson claimed the victim's actions caused Satan to manifest inside him.

Robinson was arrested.

Partying with Robinson sounds like quite the ordeal. You never know what's going to happen.... slit your throat; listen to music; prophesize all the pain in hell on you; drink a beer; see you die in an accident.

Florida couple built drive-thru window at mobile home to sell drugs: cops

http://a57.foxnews.com/images.foxnews.com/content/fox-news/us/2018/08/31/florida-couple-built-drive-thru-window-at-mobile-home-to-sell-drugs-cops/_jcr_content/par/featured_image/media-0.img.jpg/931/524/1535719482382.jpg?ve=1&tl=1

A Florida couple was arrested last week after they were caught allegedly selling drugs out of a drive-thru window they constructed out of the side of their mobile home.

William Parrish Jr. and McKenzee Dobbs of Ocala, Florida, were arrested on August 23 after investigators raided their mobile home following reports of four drug overdoses in the area, WFTV reported.

Ocala Police said the couple had turned a kitchen window into a drive-thru so customers would not have to constantly enter and exit their home, potentially drawing unwanted attention, WFTV reported. The house had signs directing people where to drive and indicated whether it was open or closed, police said.

“We were seeing some overdose incidents that were happening in this particular area, specifically at this particular location,” said Ocala Police Capt. Steven Cuppy. “There [were] some heroin sales that were going on there. Subsequently, through the investigation, we were able to determine that product was laced with fentanyl.”

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dl4UojoXsAAqZay.jpg

Parrish, 32, was charged with driving under the influence, keeping a dwelling used to sell drugs, possession of drugs with intent to sell and resisting arrest without violence, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office inmate records.

Dobbs, 20, has been charged with keeping a dwelling used to sell drugs, possession of drugs with intent to sell, possession of fentanyl and possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, court records show.

William Parrish Sr. told WFTV his son had been “trying to get himself straightened out” and maintained reports of overdoses were a “lie.”

Ocala is located inland, about 66 miles west of Daytona Beach.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - One of the two Catholic priests who Miami Beach Police Department officers found having oral sex in a parked car on Ocean Drive in South Bech walked out of jail on Tuesday afternoon.

Miami-Dade County corrections officers released Diego Berrio, a 39-year-old priest with the Mission of San Juan Diego in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Edwin Giraldo Cortez, a 30-year-old priest from Soacha, Colombia, who served at the St. Aloysius Parish in Chicago, remained in custody.

"It is our responsibility to ensure those who serve our people are fit for ministry," said Anne Maselli, a spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of Chicago. "We take this matter very seriously."

Miami-Dade prosecutors charged both men with lewd and lascivious behavior. Giraldo Cortez, who reportedly served at the church in Chicago for a month, was also charged with indecent exposure.

It was easy for a police officer to spot Berrio and Giraldo Cortez about 3:30 p.m., because their black Volkswagen Beetle didn't have tinted windows, according to the police report.

The rental car was parked on Ocean Driver in front of Lummus Park and the Art Deco hotels, between 13th and 14th Streets.

A Florida Inmate Reportedly Ripped His Cellmate's Eyes Out After Strangling Him
Officers reportedly didn't notice anything was wrong until the inmate walked into the cafeteria with his victim's ear on a necklace.

The Miami Herald, citing multiple prison sources, reported that the gruesome killing occurred Thursday morning in a building separate from the main facility at Columbia Correctional Institution, where hours later a battle between two rival gangs armed with knives and other weapons erupted.

The inmate who was killed was identified as 58-year-old Larry Mark, who was also listed in prison records as being deceased as of Thursday. Mark, who had been at the prison since 1982, was serving a life sentence for murder, records show.u

Prison officials, however, declined to comment to the Miami Herald on how Mark died or identity his attacker.

The prison and the Florida Department Of Corrections also did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News' request for comment. However, sources told the Herald that the attacker had become irritated with Mark before killing him and mutilating his body, leaving his eyeballs in a cup to consumer later before going to breakfast.

Columbia Correctional Institution
Only two officers were patrolling Mark's dorm at the time of his death, according to the Herald

The Florida Department Of Corrections (FDC) released a statement saying that 10 inmates at Columbia were involved in an altercation the same day, four of whom had to be taken to the hospital.

In a statement to the Herald, the FDC would not elaborate on Mark's death, but said an investigation had been launched.

"Any loss of life at the hands of an inmate is intolerable, and we are working with our partners at FDLE to investigate this death and ensure anyone responsible is held accountable to the fullest extent of the law," a spokesperson said.

According to the Herald, a potent mix of problems — staffing cuts, growing violence, the introduction of synthetic marijuana and inexperienced guards — has left Florida prisons struggling to adequately inspect cells for weapons and contraband, let alone control inmates

People who live in a Florida neighborhood say their neighbor does yard work and walks around his property naked. Stuart residents say they’ve called the sheriff's office, but deputies say there is nothing they can do.

"I came out Sunday night to put the trash out, and I look over and he is bent over, winding up his hose, and I'm like, that is my view of the neighborhood,” says Melissa Ny, a neighbor.

Concerned neighbors want to crack down on this naked truth, the man who lives at the end of their street is a nudist.

"He works on his car, and he does it naked and everyone has called the police. He is just out there doing his yard work, whatever he needs to do outside, naked," says Ny.

Nude yard work? Neighbors can't bear it.

"Have some respect for the neighborhood kids. Kids catch the bus here. It’s wrong," says Charlie Estes, a neighbor.

Several people in the neighborhood have called the Martin County Sheriff's office, but say deputies tell them as long as he isn't touching himself inappropriately, there is nothing they can do since he is on his own property.

"I have seen these people stand on their front step, buck naked, both of them, and talk to a police officer, sheriff department. The sheriff's department told me to turn my head," says Estes.

We found one person who doesn’t have an issue with the neighbor stripped down to nothing.

"I am not one of those people who have concerns because it is their way of life, and it is on their property and I know it is legal," says Molly Merritt, neighbor.

We spoke with the man in question off camera. He said he was not interested in doing an interview because he and his family are private people.

"If they are private, why are your privates on display? That is not private at all, that is very public," says Ny.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-man-threatens-hes-about-ready-to-kill-neighbor-himself-over-walkway-dispute-during-city-council-meeting

A disgruntled Florida man threatened to kill his neighbor and then himself in an ongoing dispute over a shared walkway at a city council meeting this week.

Leonard Towsley, 56, took to the podium Monday during the Edgewater City Council meeting to address an ongoing dispute with his neighbor, William Hamilton.

“He took full advantage of you peoples’ stupidity, arrogance and animosity and made you think that he could get, you could get away with doing his dirty work for him,” Towsley said after pausing multiple times to compose himself.

FLORIDA RESIDENTS WARNED PARASITE-CARRYING NEW GUINEA FLATWORMS ARE INVADING PART OF THE STATE

Towsley was referencing an issue involving a shared walkway between his property and Hamilton’s.

The trouble started a few years ago when Hamilton paved the walkway with asphalt after the city granted him a permit to do so, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

Records obtained by the news agency show that Hamilton called police on Towsley three times in 2017, all resulting in three misdemeanor charges for which the man never was prosecuted.

In one incident, Towsley allegedly dug up pieces of the asphalt and in another, he spray painted the walkway.

“If you two lowlifes get re-elected, all hell's going to break loose down there because I have reached my end and I am about ready to kill that piece of s*** Hamilton,” he said. “Then I’m going to end up taking my own life.”

FLORIDA GAS STATION ATTACK ON 4 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL, SEEN IN SHOCKING VIDEO

Towsley continued his rant before being escorted out of the meeting by two officers.

“You’re going to have two dead bodies laying in the middle of the street that you are going to have to answer for because of that scumbag!”

“Do you two b****** want to go to prison because of him for a double murder?” Towsley said to two specific council members.

Woman farts in store, pulls knife on offended customer

He smelled it – and she dealt with it.

A Florida woman who passed gas in a convenience store pulled a knife and threatened to “gut” a man who complained about it, police said.

Shanetta Yvette Wilson, 37, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. Police arrested her on Sunday and booked her at a detention facility in Pompano Beach, where her bail was set at $2,500.

Police say the alleged colon culprit threatened the customer, John Walker, when he complained about her flatulence while standing in line together at a Dollar General store in Dania Beach, according to an affidavit obtained by the Miami Herald.

Walker got into a verbal argument with Wilson “in reference to the defendant farting loudly,” the arrest report states.

Wilson reportedly took a knife out of her purse and threatened to “gut” the man. She held the knife in her right hand and motioned in a way that looked like she was going to stab him, police said.

It was not clear if Wilson had a lawyer.

A chaotic scene played out in a Publix parking lot in Clermont, Florida, on Wednesday.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called out to the supermarket on U.S. Highway 27 over a silver car driving in circles.

When a deputy made contact with the driver, later identified as Mohammad Choudhary, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his breath reeked of alcohol, according to the arrest report.

This wasn’t the first 911 call made over this individual. Deputies said an employee from a restaurant nearby had called to report that Choudhary had been kicked out because he was overly intoxicated.

A field sobriety test was conducted, which the 57-year-old failed, authorities say. The officer also observed the “arrestee had urinated himself.”

Apparently Choudhary was not a mean drunk, getting affectionate with the arresting officer, he wrote in the report.

“I tried to hold a conversation with the arrestee and he continuously stated that he loved me over and over.”

The Orlando family doctor was charged with DUI second offense and refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer. He was released on $2,000 bond.

Authorities say a Florida teen set his mother on fire with a Molotov cocktail and beat her with a baseball bat after she scolded him about sneaking out at night and using social media.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that the woman was treated for severe burns following the Tuesday morning attack at a Davie home. She remained hospitalized Thursday in stable condition.

Police say the 17-year-old boy filled a glass bottle with alcohol, capped it with a rag and threw it into his sleeping mother's bedroom. The woman managed to get outside and call 911. The teen later told investigators he just wanted to hurt his mother, not kill her.

A fisherman prompted the evacuation of a Florida Taco Bell when he put his catch of the day in the trunk of his car and drove to the fast-food restaurant, police said.

The angler, who was not identified, reeled in a rusted WWII hand grenade on Saturday while fishing with a magnet in Ocklawaha, according to police.

Instead of immediately calling for the bomb squad when he pulled in the explosive with other rusted pieces of metal, he put the vintage device in the trunk of his vehicle and drove 17 miles north to a Taco Bell in Ocala, according to the Ocala Police Department.

The fisherman called 911 from the Taco Bell at about 5 p.m. Saturday, triggering an emergency response and the evacuation of the restaurant, police said.

"This has been verified as an authentic WWII hand grenade," the Ocala police posted on Twitter.

A bomb squad responded, removed the grenade from the fisherman's truck and carted it off to dispose of it.

No one was injured during the incident, and the Taco Bell reopened about two hours after the grenade was reported, police said.

MELBOURNE, Fla. —

A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after her boyfriend’s dismembered and decomposing body was found in a camper in Melbourne, Florida.

The arrest of Penny Rebecca Pospisil, 47, was announced on Friday by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said they believe Anthony Franklin Mitchell, 55, was murdered in August in Lake Panasoffkee.

Mitchell’s family told investigators they’d last heard from him in August 2018. Investigators said Mitchell and Pospisil were living together at the Lake Panasoffkee RV Village at the time.

In the following weeks, investigators said Pospisil began telling her family and friends that Mitchell had died.

"She began going around the campground telling people that he had died of natural causes and she had him cremated," said Patrick Breeden of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, according to WFTV.

A neighbor at the RV park reported a foul odor coming from her camper around the same time, investigators said.

Toward the end of September, Pospisil moved the camper to Wickham Park in Melbourne, investigators said.

The camper had been in the park for three months, since Sept. 29, and had been moved to two or three different sites during its stay. Mitchell’s body was not discovered until the campsite rent expired.

Investigators said the body had been dismembered and was in the advanced stages of decomposition. The cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Pospisil was arrested Friday at a home in Melbourne and is charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a human body. According to WFTV, deputies said Pospisil killed Mitchell, cut his body into pieces, then lived with his remains until she could no longer deal with the smell.

Pospisil said she killed Mitchell in self-defense, claiming she was a victim of domestic violence. However, deputies said they doubted this story because she went to great lengths to hide what she did.

OLDSMAR, Fla. (FOX 13) - An Oldsmar man was arrested after video showed him performing sexual acts on his Siberian Husky, detectives said.

Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after an out-of-state citizen found video and photos online of a man having sexual contact with a dog. The individual alerted Pinellas County Animal Services, and officials notified the sheriff’s office.

The man in the imagery was seen wearing a black-and-white Husky costume. The dog was clearly in distress during the inappropriate acts, detectives said. At one point the dog tried to run away, but the man hit the dog with a sex toy.

Detectives said they identified the suspect as 21-year-old Christian Stewart Oscar Nichols. They said when they contacted him at his home, he admitted to making the video and posting it online.

He was arrested on an aggravated animal cruelty charge. Pinellas County Animal Services removed two dogs from Nichols’ home, including the one seen in the video.

Detectives said there could be more charges filed against Nichols.

That is not private at all, that is very public," says Ny.

https://www.kmbc.com/article/police-husband-wife-ran-illegal-dental-office-out-of-garage-for-5-years/26515571

NORTH PORT, Fla. —

Police in Florida say an illegal dental office being run out of the garage of a house has been shut down.

WFLA reports an undercover officer posing as a patient discovered the full-service facility in the middle of a North Port neighborhood.

The Bradenton Herald reports Enrique Sanabria Gravier, 48, and his wife Adriana Gutierrez Hoyos, 47, were arrested Tuesday on charges of practicing dentistry without a license and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The Florida Department of Health received a tip that the couple had been running the unlicensed practice for five years.

The couple is accused of performing extractions, braces and crowns.

"Everything from a cleaning to even braces, items like that. So pretty in depth and certainly not being done with the right education, certification, insurance,” said Josh Taylor with the North Port Police Department.

A probable cause affidavit says there was no medical insurance for the practice, and Gravier and Hoyos were not paying taxes.

A dentist, Dr. Christian Becker, said people in need of dentistry who cannot afford it should take advantage of county-run clinics or free dental services offered by professionals.

“It actually makes me sad for the most part because I can sympathize. I understand that it's not inexpensive to get a dental appointment,” said Becker.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —

A woman who shot a man because he was snoring too loudly is facing attempted murder charges, Brevard County deputies confirmed.

Authorities said Lorie Morin, 47, of Cocoa, shot her boyfriend during a domestic violence incident Wednesday.

When authorities arrived at their home on Emerald Lake Drive in unincorporated Cocoa, Morin and her boyfriend inferred the shooting was an accident.

The man was taken to the hospital where he is still recovering from his injury but is in stable condition.

Through an ongoing investigation by deputies, authorities discovered the pair, who had been drinking before the incident, had an argument over the victim snoring too loud.

Authorities said Morin grabbed a shotgun and fired at her boyfriend, striking him.

Morin is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery. She is being held at the Brevard County Jail with no bond.

This one is frickin' sick:

A Florida kindergarten teacher and her boyfriend are facing charges that they made videos of themselves sexually abusing children.

The Orlando Sentinel reports 34-year-old Audra Mabel is facing federal charges of creating child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child. Her 36-year-old boyfriend, Justin Ritchie, is charged with sexual assault of a child.

Sanford police said a preschool-age relative of Ritchie told her mother he had abused her many times. Officers arrested him March 8 and say they found video on his cellphone of him assaulting the child.

According to the Lansing State Journal, investigators seized Ritchie's digital devices and found pornographic material produced by both him and Mabel. Multiple videos involved a young child and were made by Mabel in 2017, when she was living in Michigan.

Investigators say they also found video of Mabel abusing a young relative and one of her exposing herself in a Michigan first-grade classroom where she previously taught.

She was hired in Florida in December. Mabel was a teacher at Spring Lake Elementary in Altamonte Springs. The district said it fired her immediately when it learned of her arrest.

Officials told WFTV that while there is no evidence of her doing anything similar while teaching at Spring Lake Elementary, they contacted parents immediately.

“It's too early to know whether there were or there weren't,” said Michael Lawrence with Seminole County Public Schools. "That's why we just want to take the precaution of making them aware and having those conversations with their students, with their children.”

Attack of the poisonous toads!

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. —

Residents in a Florida neighborhood are terrified for the safety of their children and pets after they began seeing thousands of dime-sized toads plaguing their yards in Palm Beach Gardens.

Jennifer Quasha says in the eight years she has lived in her neighborhood, she has never seen anything like this before.

“I just can’t believe it! It’s just really gross. I feel like I don’t have a backyard. I don’t have a front yard. I feel if we don’t leave we’re confined to the indoors. I feel like the toads are taking over,” Quasha said.

Quasha says her family noticed the toads Friday.

“We woke up to tens of thousands of what we didn’t know at the time if they were frogs or toads at the time entering our swimming pool by the hundreds,” Quasha explained.

The mother of three and her neighbors believe the little amphibians are Bufo toads. The species is commonly known for causing eye or irritation in children and harming pets.

“If they are those toads they definitely are an issue,” said Ethan Howell, the manager of Florida Environmental Pest Management. “They are poisonous and they excrete a liquid from their glands and if that is ingested by (a) dog, it can be fatal.”

Howell says a population explosion of this magnitude is very uncommon. But he says there are many factors that can cause the toads to reproduce quicker.

“When the conditions are like they have been -- really high, influx of warm weather, up in the 80s and 90s and quite a bit of rain, which causes more standing water -- there’s more opportunities for them to reproduce,” Howell said.

Quasha believes the lake directly behind her home is the causing the “infestation” of Bufo toads.

When she reached out to the homeowners association to express her concerns she says they sent out a mass email stating, "This event is a natural course of nature not having anything to do with the ecosystem of the lake. The opinion is that this is an isolated occurrence not derived from the lake.”

The email goes on to explain this situation has occurred in Mirasol before and they recommend residents hire a pest control specialist.

“I’m hoping to find out if something was supposed to be done. If the owners of this lake and master association was supposed to be maintaining the lake and possibly pulling out the fish eggs from the lake and euthanizing the adult toads,” Quasha said. “I’m sure they couldn’t possibly get them all, but it would never be to this magnitude had they been doing so.”

WPBF reached out to the neighborhood's management team, which said the board contacted a toad removal service and that trapping and netting the cane toads will begin Tuesday.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/09/07/florida-man-drunk-and-naked-allegedly-set-house-fire/1228241002/

An apologetic but confused man greeted Florida firefighters after he allegedly started a house fire as he tried to bake cookies on a George Foreman grill, according to local media reports.

Smoke was coming from the house in Niceville, Florida, on Aug. 27 when the naked man met authorities at the door, according to a police report cited by the Miami Herald. At the time, the home was filled with smoke and multiple items were on fire.

"I'm sorry," he said to them and closed the door, the Northwest Florida Daily News reports.

The man "showed no sign of understanding the danger he was in,” the Herald quotes a police report. He later told authorities that he had smoked marijuana and consumed two liters of vodka, the Herald reports.

After the man had been removed from the house for his safety, firefighters informed him that he could have died of smoke inhalation, the Daily News reports. Firefighters wore oxygen masks as they took burning items from the home.

A fire department investigation found that the man had tried to bake cookies on an unattended George Foreman grill, according to the publication. When the grill caught fire, he attempted to put the fire out using towels, which also caught on fire.

The man had obvious burns on his hands but refused medical treatment, the Herald reports.

Thats where I live. It's a huge county and there is a major divide. The hard core Trump backers and Scientologists are in the northern part where most of this stuff happens. The southern part is now a majority of millennial's, think San Francisco politically and socially.

I grew up on the southside of St. Pete, it was the scary part of town and that's hard to believe it's now the hip section. Graduated from St. Petersburg High in '68. I remember when the Scientologist bought that place, it was the Fort Harrison Hotel about 1975 they took over. I was an FAA controller at St. Pete/Clearwater Airport tower in the 70's, they even had their own airplanes based there.

Out by the airport we had a neat club called the Electric Zoo, it was near Sunshine Speedway. I remember in '69 seeing the Allman Bros there before they released their first album. I was going to see Queen at Sunshine Speedway in '75 but the day of the show the fire marshall wouldn't approve the stage, said it wasn't strong enough to safely support all their equipment. I moved to Pensacola in '77 and have only been back a couple of times. It's so congested, my parents retired to Spring Hill in the 80's, that's up by Weechi Wachie Springs. I live in a big retirement community since 2011 off I-75 at the Wildwood exit. It's neat place if you're over 55. I'm going to see Starship tomorrow night here.

A Florida man arrested this week for refusing to remove a sticker on his pickup truck proclaiming that he eats ass will not be prosecuted, officials said Thursday.

Now the man is threatening to sue the sheriff's office for violating his First Amendment rights.

Dillon Shane Webb, 23, was stopped Sunday on a highway in Lake City, west of Jacksonville, by a Columbia County sheriff's deputy who saw a sticker on his rear window that read, "I EAT ASS."

Dashcam footage shows the deputy telling Webb that the reason he was pulled over was "the derogatory sticker" on the back of his truck.

"How is that derogatory?" Webb asks.

"How is it not derogatory?" the deputy responds. "Some 10-year-old little kid sitting in the passenger seat of his momma's vehicle looks over and sees 'I EAT ASS' and asks his mom what it means; how is she going to explain that?"

"That's the parent's job, not my job," Webb responded.

Webb was issued a summons for what the sheriff's deputy said was a misdemeanor violation of Florida's obscene-materials law.

Dashcam footage shows the deputy telling Webb that if one of his four children asked him about the sticker, he "would be furious."

When the deputy told Webb to remove one of the letters from the words "ASS" to read "AS," Webb refused, citing his constitutional right to free speech.

The deputy subsequently arrested Webb and charged him with the additional offense of resisting an officer without violence.

News of Webb's arrest — and his sticker — made news around the country. In a notice filed Thursday, prosecutors announced that they were dropping the charges against him.

"Having evaluated the evidence through the prism of Supreme Court precedent it is determined that the Defendant has a valid defense to be raised under the First Amendment of our United States Constitution," Assistant State's Attorney John Foster Durrett wrote. "Given such, a jury would not convict under these facts."

Webb's lawyer, Andrew Bonderud, told BuzzFeed News they were now considering "a number of potential claims" against the sheriff's office.

Bonderud noted that the dash cam footage shows the deputy at first telling his client that the sticker was "derogatory" instead of "obscene." He also highlighted that at several points, one of the deputy's colleagues can be heard telling him via the radio to "tow his shit."

"Not only were they wrong on the law, but they happen to be hypocrites," he said.

Bonderud said Webb's sticker "didn't satisfy the rigorous standard to be found to be obscene," which he said "typically refers to something that is erotic in nature."

"[The 'I EAT ASS' sticker] could be a euphemism for a number of things," he insisted.

"The bottom line is that he and his friends thought it would be funny," Bonderud said, "and he shouldn't end up in jail for making a joke like that."

Bonderud acknowledged that this free speech case was "unique" compared with the others he has worked on, but said Webb was heroic for fighting for his rights.

"I think it was brave of him to refuse to take down what he thought was protected speech," Bonderud said. "I think it showed courage on his part."

Florida woman who assaulted Burger King employee for not providing free fries arrested, police say

A Florida woman was arrested on Monday after her attempt to “have it your way” turned violent.

Natasha Bagley, 42, was charged with armed robbery with assault or battery, criminal mischief, and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon after police say she assaulted the manager of a Burger King after another employee refused to give her and her girlfriend free fries last month.

Miami Dade County Police were called to the fast food restaurant, located on 18240 S. Dixie Highway, at around 4:50 p.m. April 2 after Bagley and her girlfriend, Genesis Peguero, 27, reportedly entered the restaurant and caused a disturbance minutes after an employee at the drive-thru window wouldn’t give them the free food, a police affidavit obtained by Fox News stated.

Bagley was heard by witnesses asking who called Peguero a “b----.”

That’s when police say Peguero jumped over the counter and demanded that the store manager open the register and give her all the money, threatening to hit her over the face with a .45 caliber pistol.

When the victim was able to reach the phone to call police, Peguero grabbed the phone and began to beat her, at which point Bagley also jumped over the counter and began to hit and kick the woman, the police affidavit stated.

The pair began to leave the restaurant before Peguero turned around to push and rip off both registers. Police say she again began assaulting the victim.

Bagley and Peguero fled the scene in a Black SUV.

Bagley was later identified in a picture by the victim and arrested on Monday. Peguero has yet to be located by police.

Florida man steals car, kills dog, chases man with ax, found naked in chicken coop: police

https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-man-steals-car-kills-dog-chicken-coop

A Florida man who allegedly stole a car, killed a dog -- and possibly chickens -- and chased a man with an ax was found naked in a chicken coop Tuesday, police said.

John Mehne, 25, of Sarasota, Fla., was arrested Tuesday after New York State Police responded to a call about an Audi, parked facing the wrong direction, on Interstate 81, roughly three miles from the Pennsylvania border.

'GINGERBREAD GANGSTA' SOUGHT IN OHIO FOR PETTY THEFT, DRUG POSSESSION

Investigators discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in Sarasota. Mehne had allegedly been driving the Audi when he crashed it into a guardrail. He then tried to hop on the back of a van, failed, then jumped onto the back of a pickup truck before that driver pulled over, allowing Mehne to flee into the woods, police said in a news release.

A search by the state police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office ensued and, later that day, state police received a call from a man who "came home from work and found Mehne in his chicken coop."

INDIANA MAN ALLEGEDLY ORDERS RIDE-SHARE AS GETAWAY CAR AFTER SHOOTING: POLICE

Mehne, when asked what he was doing, allegedly said he was "killing the chickens." State police said Mehne chased the man with an ax and rode off after stealing an ATV, which he later abandoned.

Soon after, authorities said they received another call about a naked man in another chicken coop -- which is where Mehne was arrested. The 25-year-old was bitten by a police K-9 officer in the process.

Authorities later learned that Mehne allegedly broke into a home in the area and killed a family dog.

Mehne was transported to a hospital for treatment, booked, and remanded at the Broome County Jail on no bail.

She grabbed him by the private parts and squeezed until he bled

A Florida woman has been jailed over allegations she grabbed her boyfriend’s testicles and squeezed so hard that he bled, police say.

Katie Lee Pitchford, 21, of Indian Harbour Beach on Florida’s Space Coast, was in a confrontation with her live-in boyfriend on June 4 when the argument escalated, according to an arrest report.

Pitchford, enraged, hit her boyfriend with a brush, the Indian Harbour Beach Police Department said. She also punched and scratched him, drawing blood on the left side of his face.

The arrest report, which didn’t say what the couple were fighting over, described the boyfriend’s account of what happened. “The victim also stated the defendant ‘grabbed him by his balls and squeezed them until they were bleeding,’” the report said.

In the back of the squad car after she was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery, Pitchford “asked if she could talk to the victim because she wanted to say she was sorry," the arresting officer said in the report.

Pitchford, also was accused of violating her probation, is scheduled to appear in court June 25.

ORLANDO, Fla. —

A man who was found by police in Palm Bay, Florida, with 75 pool floats said he’d stolen them for sex instead of raping women, according to an arrest affidavit.

Christopher Monnin, 35, is charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petty theft.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers arrested Monnin on Thursday with a garbage bag full of deflated pool floats. He then led police to a vacant home where they found a total of 75 floats.

Police said that for seven months, somebody has been cutting pool screens at Palm Bay homes and only stealing pool floats.

According to the affidavit, Monnin told police that he “sexually gratifies himself with the pool floats instead of raping women,” the affidavit said.

You never see this on the Best Buy Commercials:

A 75-year-old Boca Raton woman has died after a delivery man struck her in the head with a wooden mallet and set her on fire, Boca Raton police announced Tuesday afternoon.

“Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries and has passed away,” Boca Raton police spokesman Mark Economou said in a statement. “We offer our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.”

Jorge Luis Dupre Lachazo, 21, of Hialeah, was helping truck driver David Gonzalez deliver a washer and dryer to a home in the Colonnades at Glen Oaks neighborhood about 9 a.m. Monday, investigators said. They were working for JB Home Delivery, a company subcontracted by Best Buy.

Before the woman died, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry issued a statement Tuesday that said the company has suspended its relationship with JB Home Delivery and is working with police.

“We are profoundly sorry and offer our deepest sympathies to our customer and her family,” Barry wrote. “Out of respect for them, we have closed our Boca Raton store [Tuesday].”

The statement also said Best Buy would revisit its delivery and installation programs, and hire an independent security firm to review existing screening, auditing and safety procedures.

According to the arrest report, Gonzalez and Lachazo had just removed the old washer and dryer and installed the new appliances in the laundry room near the two-car garage.

Gonzalez, 48, went back to his JB Home Delivery truck to return several missed calls from the office. Lachazo remained inside the home to show the woman how to use the new appliances.

Minutes later, Gonzalez heard several screams and saw the garage door closing. He went into the house through the front door and saw the woman on the blood-stained floor near the laundry room and bathroom, the report said.

Lachazo was the only other person inside the house and Gonzalez told police his colleague was acting strange. He told Gonzalez they needed to leave. Gonzalez went outside to call his supervisor and then 911. Lachazo jumped in the truck and drove away, detectives said.

Police stopped the white box truck in the 7100 block of W. Glades Road. They said Lachazo was sweating and shaking. He was wearing short pants and the hairs on his lower legs were burnt and had ash on them. He was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital for treatment.

When investigators searched the house they found blood on the tile floor of the laundry room and burn marks on the washing machine and walls. There was charred debris and clothing on the floor and a strong chemical odor in the air.

A bloody wooden mallet was on the washing machine and glass wine bottle with blood and hair was on the floor. A pair of broken prescription glasses was between the washer and dryer, police said.

In the kitchen, a can of acetone was near the stove that was pulled away from the wall. Investigators later determined Lachazo’s fingerprints were on the can and its white plastic cap was on the laundry room floor.

During police questioning, Lachazo admitted to knocking the woman unconscious by hitting her on the left side of her head with the mallet. Then, he closed the garage door, got the acetone from the garage, and spread the chemical around the laundry room, but Lachazo said he didn’t know how it ignited.

Lachazo also admitted to recently using marijuana and cocaine, police said.

The woman had severe head trauma, bleeding in her brain and second and third degree burns on her body. She was listed in “extremely critical and grave condition,” investigators said in the arrest report.

Lachazo is charged with murder, aggravated battery on a person 65 or older, and arson causing great bodily harm, records show. He is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail.

In the latest installment of near-unimaginable Florida news, a 74-year-old Sebring man has been arrested for allegedly performing a botched castration surgery on another man he’d met online through a fetish website, deputies said Tuesday.

Gary Van Ryswyk was charged with the second-degree felony of practicing medicine without a license resulting in bodily injury, deputies said.

According to an arrest affidavit, deputies arrived at Van Ryswyk’s house in Central Florida just before midnight on Sunday in response to a 911 hang-up call.

Upon arrival, Van Ryswyk admitted to deputies he had just removed the testicles of a man he’d met on “a website for those that have a fetish for castration," and, that, it didn’t go as planned.

In the man’s guest bedroom, deputies said they found a 53-year-old man with a bloody towel on his groin.

Another section of the house was set up as a “makeshift surgical room,” deputies said, with medical equipment and even a camera to record the procedure.

The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for ‘life-saving measures,’ deputies said, and is currently in stable condition.

Using painkillers he’d purchased online from England, as well as forceps and scalpels he’d acquired, Van Ryswyk said he began the procedure on Sunday around 10 p.m., but the victim’s uncontrollable bleeding made it difficult for him to close the wound.

Van Ryswyk confessed to deputies that he performed a similar operation — with a similar disastrous fate — several years ago in a motel.

Van Ryswyk was arrested Monday and is now being held in jail on a $250,000 bond.

https://dlisted.com/2019/09/17/open-post-hosted-by-the-florida-couple-who-were-arrested-for-having-sex-in-the-back-of-a-police-car/

Florida, America’s horniest state, has once again blessed us with a sticky, gooey MESS. Somebody needs to send a mage with a freshly sharpened quill down to the citadel to pull out the dusty tome called “The Book Of Horny Legends” because it needs to be updated. A Nassau County couple, Megan Lynn Mondanaro, 35, and Seth Aaron Thomas, 31, were arrested and charged with multiple crimes after they allegedly took an all expenses paid trip to The Bone Zone in the back of a patrol car after having failed field sobriety tests for biking while drunk and horny. The focus! The determination! The gall, and the nerve! Megan and Seth, we salute you!

According to People Magazine, Megan and Seth were out for a romantic late night bicycle ride when they seized their opportunity by the loins.

It was nearing midnight when a deputy from Nassau County Sheriff’s Office stopped Megan Lynn Mondanaro, 35, and Seth Aaron Thomas, 31, as they were riding their bicycles along a street in Fernandina Beach.

The report indicates neither bike had lights and that a motorist nearly struck the pair.

The deputy who stopped them said they smelled of alcohol and slurred their speech. The report claims their eyes were both bloodshot and watery. Bloodshot and watery, two of the sexitest words in the English language. Keep talking!

Field sobriety tests followed and were allegedly failed, so the policeman put Mondanaro and Thomas in the back of his patrol car.

The deputy details that he was still outside of his vehicle when Mondanaro and Thomas allegedly disrobed and started having sexual intercourse. The deputy said he opened the door to tell them to stop and noticed Thomas was completely naked and Mondanaro’s pants were down and her breasts exposed.

Completely naked, you guys. My man Seth simply can’t stand to have a stitch betwixt his flesh, and that of his lover. Lesser horn dogs might have kept their t-shirt on, but I guess nipples meeting nipples in the back of a 2011 Impala is a thrill too rare to pass up.

The report claims that Thomas was removed from the vehicle, and pushed another deputy to the ground before fleeing, sparking a brief foot chase.

Did he get his clothes back on first, or was his engorged love saber slapping out a beat so sensual, it caused spontaneous nocturnal emissions to erupt in every house within a 5-mile radius? Of course, no great sacrifice to the mighty god Libitum comes without consequence. And sadly for Megan and Seth, they got slapped with a little more than a UTI and a wet spot.

Mondanaro was charged with DUI, exposing sex organs, unnatural and lascivious act and resisting without violence.

Thomas was charged with threat against a public official, unnatural and lascivious act, exposing sex organs and DUI.

The good Libitus didn’t give us sexual organs, only to have us hide them under a bushel! And there’s nothing “unnatural” about two consenting horny drunken bicyclists getting it on the way Libitus intended: On easy-to-clean-up pleather seats! The injustice is maddening! #Justice4HornDogs

THIS STORY IS FALSE (https://www.thatsnonsense.com/man-break-burger-king-drink-gallons-frying-oil-fact-check/)

But entertaining and until I researched it a bit I was convinced we are living in a Quentin Tarantino Movie.

Click knowing it's false:

Despite the outlandish claims that 510lb Romeo Carter broke into a Miami based Burger King to drink gallons of cooking oil, some readers remained sceptical.

A Florida man found an extreme way to cheat on his diet last night: He broke into a closed fast food restaurant and drank more than 25 gallons of used oil from the deep fryers.
The Miami Police Department received a call for a break-in at a Burger King restaurant around 2 A.M. and some officers were on the site in a matter of minutes.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, they found 510-lb Romeo Carter, chugging down oil directly from the deep fryers. The 41-year old man has already ingested dozens of gallons of cooking oil, but was still drinking it with an apparently unquenchable thirst.
He was arrested on the site and accused of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.

And rightly so. The story is entirely fictional. There is no “Romeo Carter” (the mugshot is someone else) and the entire story is just designed to garner likes and shares on social media. It is yet another example of fake news from our leading spoof news website worldnewsdailyreport.com.

WorldNewsDailyReport.com is a popular fake news site that often publishes this sort of fake news by creating a bizarre sounding crime and coupling it with a random mugshot found on the Internet, and then presenting both as a real life crime that recently occurred.

Yeah, the 25 gallons of fryer oil kind of tips us off.

The people who write these things should be working a little harder. If it was two gallons, or maybe even three, it would potentially be believable. But 25 gallons immediately ruins the fantasy.

That said, my favorite tabloid story was about a new hobby of skydiving without a parachute. The participants had to hit trees so the branches would slow their fall. I could see it in my mind's eye.

'Miracle Man' survives 7 hours in Tampa heat, fire ants after collapsing in parking lot

TAMPA, Fla. -- Doctors are calling him the Miracle Man.

Clifford Rice, 49, defied the odds after spending seven hours lying unresponsive in a parking lot.

His organs were shutting down after he collapsed, while searching for his car after a concert in Tampa.

“The last thing I remember is the ants coming for me," Rice said.

Fire ants were covering Rice's face.

"A lot of them," Rice said.

Exhausted from the heat, Rice had a seizure in a parking lot across from Raymond James Stadium while trying to find his car after working as an usher at the Tim McGraw concert in September.

Rice tried calling for help, but dropped his cellphone, and ended up stuck under a random vehicle.

Here Mr. Gator, this Bud's for you!
https://news.yahoo.com/florida-man-accused-giving-beer-000600555.html

PALM CITY, Fla. – A Florida man is accused of enticing an alligator to bite his arm and pouring beer into its mouth after his friend caught the reptile.

Timothy Kepke, 27, of Hobe Sound and Noah Osborne, 22, of Stuart were arrested Oct. 3. Each was charged with unlawfully taking an alligator, a felony.

According to a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report, a complaint was received in August about Kepke holding an alligator. A video apparently showed Kepke trying to get the alligator to bite his arm and giving beer to the reptile, after which, the alligator reacted aggressively. Officers said they went to Kepke's home on Sept. 17 and Kepke told them he was the person in the video.

Kepke told officers Osborne caught the reptile with his bare hands in Palm City on Aug. 26. He said they later released the gator alive.

Kepke also told officers he had had a couple of beers, but wasn't drunk when the incident happened.

A female friend was there when the incident happened, Kepke told the officers. On Sept. 21, officers spoke with the friend, who confirmed what Osborne and Kepke said.

The woman told officers she thought the reptile bit Kepke because of his actions.

Kepke and Osborne were arrested Oct. 3 and taken to the Martin County Jail, where they were later released on bond.

Florida man ‘dry humps’ stuffed Olaf doll at Pinellas Park Target,

PINELLAS PARK — A St. Petersburg man was arrested Tuesday after police said he “dry humped" multiple stuffed animals at the Park Place Target, including Olaf, the snowman from the wildly successful Disney film Frozen.

The other victim was a large stuffed unicorn.

Police said Cody Meader, 20, of St. Petersburg, entered the store around 2 p.m. Tuesday. He walked up to a display of merchandise from Frozen, picked a large Olaf stuffed animal, placed it on the floor and proceeded to rub himself against it until he ejaculated.

Then he put it back on the display.

Authorities said Meader then walked into a toy aisle and grabbed another stuffed animal, this time a large unicorn, and rubbed himself against it as well.

Meader was detained in the store where police said he admitted to doing “stupid stuff.” Police said his father, who was not at the scene, told them Meader “has a history of this type of behavior.”

According to an arrest report, the dolls were removed from the store and destroyed.

Meader was charged with one misdemeanor account of criminal mischief and taken to Pinellas County jail. He was released on $150 bail that same day. He has no prior arrest history in Pinellas County.

I think we can all agree that the Unicorn is a Jungian Archetype and, as such, represents all that is evil and fearsome in the world. Therefore, if a guy wants to bang evil as an expression of dominance, I suppose that could be considered a form of relative sanity.

It's the Olaf sex that seems inconsistent with rationality. He's probably the least attractive Disney character ever.

Hosted By The Florida Couple Who Were Arrested For Having Sex In The Back Of A Police Car

https://dlisted.com/2019/09/17/open-post-hosted-by-the-florida-couple-who-were-arrested-for-having-sex-in-the-back-of-a-police-car/

Having lived in Fernandina for a couple years, I'm coming to this couple's defense.

First, they were RIDING THEIR BIKES! They weren't driving under the influence. They were doing the right thing.

Secondly, who of us hasn't been both horny and drunk at the same time? What's the harm here?

Third, Fernandina is for lovers. It's well known.

Party on folks!

A Florida man, found eaten by an alligator this summer, died from a meth overdose before his body was ripped apart by the reptile, according to a medical examiner's findings.

Michael Ford, 45, was found face down in a canal in Fort Meade on June 27 and Polk County Sheriff's investigators theorized he might have drowned before an alligator began eating the man's remains.

A hand and a foot belonging to Ford was found in the beast's stomach.

"It is my opinion that Michael Glenn Ford II died as a result of a methamphetamine intoxication," District Medical Examiner Stephen Nelson wrote in an autopsy report obtained by NBC News on Thursday. "The manner of death is accident."

The report took note of the "traumatic" amputations Ford's body had suffered at his left forearm and right foot. Nelson found that those injuries were likely postmortem.

"The decedent's injuries and amputations lack sufficient associated blood to suggest they were made while alive," according to Nelson's report.

Ford was nude when he was discovered, but his clothes were not found at his nearby car or at the scene, officials said.

Friends and family of Ford told investigators they hadn't seen him since June 23, authorities said.

BRADENTON, Fla. – Florida police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a criminal who has a thing for toes. Actually, more to the point: Sucking on said toes.
A Bradenton man sound asleep in the early morning hours on Dec. 24 awoke to find a stranger man sucking on his toes.
According to the police report, the man’s toes were in the stranger’s mouth when he was awakened from his slumber.
When asked by the victim what the man was doing, the stranger replied that “he was there to suck toes.”
The victim immediately began throwing punches at the stranger in an attempt to remove the man from the home. During the melee, the toe-sucking suspect claimed to have a gun and tried to fondle the victim’s “genital area," according to The Smoking Gun.
The suspect fled the area after being pummeled by the victim, but not before he punched out the man’s front window and broke the windshield of his car after climbing atop the vehicle.

Police say the suspect was a bald male between the ages of 20 and 25 and stood about 5′ 11″ and weighed 160 pounds. If apprehended, the man will be charged with felony mischief.

In dramatic video posted to social media, a bloodied man is seen clinging to the hood of a semi truck as it barrels down a Florida highway.

The bizarre incident started shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, when the Florida Highway Patrol got a call about a disoriented white male abandoning his vehicle on an exit ramp near Boynton Beach, the Daily Mail reported.

The man then jumped the concrete divider between the turnpike's southbound and northbound sides, causing traffic to slow.

Edward Hughes, a truck driver, told TMZ that he saw the man frantically waving for him to stop. Hughes did, concerned that the man was covered in blood, but he instead jumped onto the hood of the semi tractor-trailer and started bashing the windshield with a metal object.

In a panic, Hughes said he hit the gas, trying to shake the man off. The man remained latched onto the hood for almost nine miles, the Daily Mail reported.

Police were able to pull the truck over and take the man into custody. He was taken to Wellington Regional Hospital for evaluation, authorities said.

No reason has yet been given for the man’s strange behavior. The Highway Patrol did not say if the man or the truck driver would be charged.

Hey man, if you're gonna be a squatter, might as well go for it!
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. —

A homeless man in Florida allegedly stole up to $1,200 of merchandise and food while living in the luxury suite of a Tampa Bay soccer stadium for over two weeks, police said.

Daniel Albert Neja, 39, was arrested earlier this week when an employee of AI Lang Stadium found blankets in the luxury suite. The stadium is home to the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer club.

Neja stole up to $1,000 worth of merchandise from the team store as well as $200 worth of food items, according to St. Petersburg police spokeswoman Yolanda Fernandez.

"He got into the merchandise store and was wearing a bunch of team merchandise," Fernandez told CNN. "He made himself quite at home there."

Using surveillance footage, police determined that Neja had been living in the luxury suite since July 26. Neja was arrested shortly after officers got to the stadium, according to Fernandez.

"While the officers were there, one of the employees spotted him and went into the stadium, and officers caught up with him right outside the stadium and he was wearing the same clothing and everything," Fernandez said.

Neja was arrested on charges of third-degree felony burglary and a first-degree misdemeanor of resisting an officer without violence and his bond is currently set at $5,150, according to jail records.

It's not clear whether Neja has legal representation at this time.

Fernandez said that something as unusual as this would not happen under normal circumstances.

"It's very unusual and it's the sort of thing that probably would only happen during Covid, because under normal circumstances that stadium would be full of people, and luxury suites would be in use and cleaned regularly," she said.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies play in the USL Championship, the second-tier U.S. soccer league behind Major League Soccer. The current club was founded in 2008 but it shares its name and logo with the original Tampa Bay Rowdies, which were formed in 1975 and played in the now-defunct North American Soccer League. The original team folded in 1994.

The original team was the first professional sports franchise in the Tampa Bay area, according to the club's website, and "remain one of the most recognizable and well-loved brands in soccer."

Al Lang Stadium seats 7,227 and located in downtown St. Petersburg along the city's waterfront. Built in 1947, it was originally a baseball stadium but was renovated into a soccer-specific stadium by the Rowdies.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A Florida father says he doesn't understand why his fifth-grade son was asked to remove his Hooters-themed face mask at school.

He says his son has been wearing it for weeks.

"There is nothing offensive or derogatory about this mask," Greg Golba said.

Golba and his 11-year-old son, Ian, don't understand why he had to remove his Hooters mask on Tuesday.

"I don't think it's offensive at all, it's just a restaurant," Greg Golba said.

The fifth grader says his teacher at Sunset Park Elementary School in Windermere said something about it.

"I wore it and she said it was not appropriate for school and I asked her why and she said if you really want to know why, go ask the principal," Ian Golba said.

So, that's what Ian did.

"He told me to take it off three times and I asked him why, he said just take it off, so I took it off and I had to wear a different mask," Ian Golba said.

Ian put on a second mask that he had, but his father says he's worn the Hooters mask for four weeks and was only told twice to remove it.

The district does not comment on discipline matters but says the Hooters mask violates the dress code, which says in part:

"The principal at each school reserves the right to determine what appropriate dress is for the school ..."

Ian's father says Ian planned to wear his mask on Wednesday and remove it if they ask him.

A Jupiter, Florida, man was arrested for throwing a live alligator into a Wendy's restaurant drive-through east of Loxahatchee, according to WPTV.
Joshua James, 23, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, illegally killing, possessing or capturing an alligator, and second-degree larceny petit theft, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
He has not been released on bail as of Monday afternoon. WPTV reports that the incident occurred in October, but James had only been arrested recently by U.S. marshals.

Officials with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission told WPTV that James pulled up for his order, and after a server handed a drink and turned around, James tossed the 3 1/2-foot gator into the drive-through window.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —
Wildlife workers are trying to catch a shark in Brevard County, however it's not in the ocean but in a park pond. "It's not often you hear about a shark at a park. I mean, it sounds like a sci-fi movie," said Billy McDonald.

According to trapper James Dean, he believes someone dumped the 4-foot bull shark into the pond at Gleason Park in Indian Harbour Beach.

The shark is believed to have been in the pond for a month.

"The shark doesn't belong in this type of water, and we truly believe that somebody did release it in here," said Dean.

He said it's not fair to the shark because it can't get out unless someone catches it, and that is what he plans to do.

On Monday, Dean attempted to catch the shark using chum and mullet but reeled in nine turtles.

"I've never dealt with something like this," Dean said. "It will be difficult and time consuming. We want to get it out of here."

Indian Harbour Beach City Manager Mark Ryan said the overflow pipes connecting the pond to the river are grated to keep gators out, so it's unlikely a shark got there on its own.

Dean said sharks can adapt from salt water to fresh water but it is unique for it to do that.

"It is not a public safety issue as long as the media is putting it out there and people keep their children, their dogs away from the water," Dean said. "This shark is not going to jump out of the water like an alligator does."

Dean said he is not sure how long it will take to catch the animal, but once he does, he will drive it to the Indian River and release it.

He was unable to catch the shark Tuesday but said he planned to be back on Wednesday morning.

Residents have nicknamed the elusive shark "Sushi."

Usually I want to get an "ugly woman" warning on these videos, but she looked really good from a distance. Is she really 53? It's too bad we couldn't get a closeup, maybe from the front, to learn more.

PORT SAINT LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A car left on train tracks was struck and catapulted into a nearby home in Port St. Lucie.

According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Bradford Weitzel left a Martin County bar early Saturday morning to find that his car was missing.

Weitzel told investigators that he stole another vehicle in an attempt to find his own, and that it suddenly stopped dead while on train tracks along Indian River Drive.

Detectives say Weitzel bailed from the car and ran as an oncoming train struck the vehicle and sent it flying into a nearby home.

The homeowners were asleep inside, but thankfully no one was hurt during the incident.

Deputies say Weitzel continued to flee to a nearby fruit stand, where he vandalized the stand and attempted to steal a forklift.

Eventually, Weitzel flagged down the responding deputies to ask for help finding his missing car. Deputies arrested him after he explained the events of the evening.
