I think there is a spy hole in my bathroom...need advice

So I'm taking a shit and I'm looking straight ahead and I see a pinhole, and I'm like, wtf? So I examine the wall around it and I don't see any weird paint issues or any patch job.

I decide that I want to check the wall thats behind the pinhole, which is in my bedroom closet, and low and behold there is a nifty little patch-job.

Now I'm trying to decide whether or not to hammer out the wall in my closet. Theres been a lot of commotion around the hole so if there is a camera, the landlord is going to know as soon as he reviews the tape.

What do you think I should do?

Is there any way for me to know if there is a camera in there without busting open the wall?

If you really suspect there's something in the wall, tear out the patched area and check. If there's nothing there, just fix it and nobody will ever know. If there is something there, call the cops and get the freak arrested. Drywall patching is cheap and easy. Then just take a chunk of the paint to Home Depot and they can color match it for you, works like a charm.

I personally would pay the $10 to open up the other side of the stud, patch the hole and have the peace of mind.

of course, while the wall is open you could always put your own camera in there....
