A show with 2 local guys-help me out Chitown-Dan & Dave?- were polling people about their "revised" Super Bowl picks. Interestingly, most people chose a Viking-Titan matchup, saying that the Rams were through. Then they cheap-shot the Chiefs:
"If the Chiefs can beat the Rams, anyone can."

Really? Even your hometown Bears?

Then, they asked people who their #1 choice to replace Dick Jauron would be. The winner?

DITKA!!!

So I guess KC isn't the only town with a few blind homers.

As Chris Farley once said:

"Diiiiiitka, Sauuuuuusage, Da Bears, Da Bulls, Diiiiiiitka"

Living in a area where the majority of fans are Bears fans it is amazing how the much the Chiefs are looked down on. The Bears have done very little since 85. The Chiefs still haven't managed to win the big one, but they give us something to cheer about every year

They also said that all of the success this year is directly attributed to Ditka, that it took "guts" to trade all of those picks for Ricky Williams.

Please.

But to say that the chiefs beating the Rams proves that "anyone" can is a big-time smack. My guess is that we could beat the bears by alot more than 20 points.

Dan & Dan. It's former NFL lineman Dan Jiggetts and broadcaster Dan McNeil. I miss WSCR http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/frown.gif, now that I live in Wichita. The local sports radio here is about as bad as it gets. On a good day I can tune in 810 from KC to lift my spirits.

The only thing surprising about any of those Bear fans comments is that they haven't decided to erect a statue of Ditka in hopes that he would come back. Jauron is a good coach, they just need better talent on both sides of the ball.

The only thing more annoying than Bear football are their fans. They are without a doubt the biggest blind homer group you'll ever meet/talk to.

I completely agree with ChiTown about the Bears. Their problem is with a lack of player talent, not their coach. Also, their fans, collectively, are oblivious to this. You would think that the scarcity of All-Pro and Pro-Bowl selections from the Bears the past several years would wise them up, but it doesn't.

My best friend lives in Chicago, and when we talk football (about once a week) he NEVER gives the Chiefs any props. Just Bears this and Bears that, even though they suck!

The coach isn't the problem. The system is. The variation of the Kentucky offense they run works well in college, where players aren't that disciplined. But in the NFL it took only a year for defenses to catch on to their short, WR screen passing game. It caught the Chiefs off-guard last year, but would never happen again.

I guess without MJ the city doesn't have anything to cheer about. The Sox got punked, the Cubs are, well, the Cubs, and the Bears just suck all over the place. I bet the city is just dying for the Blackhawks to do well.

Chitown,
Sometimes I enjoy listening to the score, but they really annoyed me yesterday with their comments. I mean, they have the nerve to call Sammy Sosa the best player in baseball, and yet when the White Sox lost to the Mariners, they referred to them as chokers.

BTW, it's been TERRIBLE personell decisions that have haunted "da bears" the past decade, not necessarily coaching. Look at busts like Salaam, Enis, Spellman, and guys that weren't as good as perceived like Curtis Conway & Walt Harris.

Bears fans forget that the McCaskey's make the personnel decisions, not the "GM".

Having the bad luck to live in this giant A$$HOLE OF THE UNIVERSE otherwise known as Chicago, let me tell you about Chicago sports/fans/writers:

1. Chicago fans believe the Bears will win the Superbowl every year, right up until the time the Bears are annually, mathematically eliminated from playoff contention during Week 8.

2. They believe any quarterback from Notre Dame should be signed by the Bears immediately, since he will obviously be the next Joe Montana.

3. They ignore the White Sox, who despite their poor showing in the playoffs are the ONLY DECENT TEAM IN THIS CITY. Of course, the fact that Comiskey Park is located in the middle of demiliterized zone doesn't help, but come on...

4. They think the Cubs are always a year away from the World Series, and somehow can't figure out that Cubs ownership knows that these pathetic sheep will pack Wrigley regardless of how little money or effort they put into the team.

5. If you think Whitlock is a jerk, I give you Jay Mariotti of the Chicago Sun Times. The odds of this pr!ck saying anything good about anything are about as long as the Cubs and the Bears winning championships in the same year.

6. I don't generally listen to Chicago sports radio, because unless you believe Chicago is the only sports city in the universe, there's nothing to hear. Lots of b!tching, crying and belittling of all things not Chicago.

Respect from Chicago means nothing. Chicago sucks, its teams (except for the one no one likes) are jokes, the fans are deluded morons and the media-types are knuckle-dragging goons.
