ObamaCare goodness continues

Home Depot Inc. (HD), the world’s largest home improvement retailer, plans to end medical coverage for about 20,000 part-time employees and direct them to government-sponsored exchanges scheduled to open next month as companies revamp benefits to fit the U.S. Affordable Care Act.

Employees with fewer than 30 hours a week will no longer be offered limited liability medical coverage, Stephen Holmes, a spokesman, said today by telephone. About 5 percent of Atlanta-based Home Depot’s 340,000 employees are enrolled in that plan.

For most limited plans available to part-timers, they are better off going to the exchanges.
Every company with more than 50 employees dropping coverage and sending employees to exchanges is an example. The whole idea of passing Obamacare by the democrats was not a fix, just a pathway towards single payer. Obamacare is the intermediate gateway a company can use to cut their costs and help the bottom line. Health care as a benefit has a long tradition in this country as a method to attract quality employees. Now that Obama and the democrats have given companies a reason to eliminate that benefit it will, and is happening.

Plug in the numbers. The Home Depot employees will now get their insurance for free.

This is a win for the company and a win for the employees.

To be fair, we were already paying for these people on Limited Liability plans. Any time any real problem happened these people might as well have had no insurance and then the costs just get passed on.

THIS!

We are moving away from an employer funded health care system. Businesses are damn glad to get out of the health care providing business. Home Depot employees are going to get more coverage for less.

Businesses are going to use the "Obamacare" excuse to quit proving health insurance to their employees. It will be a massive dump. If the pricing models people are seeing in the marketplace hold up.......It's a win-win for everyone.

It's going to happen. Republicans would be in a better position to improve Obamacare if they would just try to make it a better system. The tea party wing is doing them no favors.

Pass defunding Obamacare for the 44th time. That will surely do it this time.

Your being paranoid. I don't hear any loud voices yelling for socialized medicine. No large group of people in the USA wants a British/Canada style health care system.

We need a single payer system ala medicare for all. Government backed but run by private Doctors, hospitals, insurance companies etc.

If you get your plan through your employer, your employer picks your plan(s). To the extent that your employer remains under the same plans, then you do get to keep your plan, but that is up to the employer and is not directed by Obamacare.

Just ****ing stop. We're all on to the retarded chimp in charge and his more retarded minions Pelosi and Reid.

What is being rolled out is nothing that was advertised. It's a ****ing disaster and the biggest liar ever elected president and his party are going to eat it. Hopefully it sets the progressive movement back decades.
