Congressional Dems feeling Heat

These asswipes all kissed Obamas ass and now they see the results....He is a liar and an unprincipled POS and with luck all the Durbins of the world will get beat in the midterms.

President Barack Obama’s chief defense of his administration’s wide-ranging data-gathering programs Friday: Congress authorized them, with “every member” well aware of the details.

Not so, say many members of Congress — Democrats and Republicans alike.

Typically, members of Congress “don’t receive this kind of briefing,” Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) told POLITICO Friday. They wouldn’t have known about the programs unless they were on an intelligence committee, attended special sessions last held in 2011 or specifically asked to be briefed – something they would only know to do if they were clued in by an colleague who was already aware.

Durbin said he learned about the two programs himself only after requesting a briefing under “classified circumstances” after being urged to do so by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).

Congressional leadership and intelligence committees had access to information about the programs, he said — but the “average member” of Congress likely wouldn’t have been aware of the breadth of the telephone and Internet surveillance.

There’s no public record of who has attended any of these sessions — and even the Obama administration couldn’t confirm the president’s claim that “every member of Congress” had been briefed.

The White House declined to comment for this story.

And Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) told POLITICO that the classified intelligence briefing sessions he’s attended haven’t disclosed details on the two data-gathering programs as were unveiled this week.

Schock, in Congress since 2009, said he had “no idea” about the phone data gathering, or any briefings for House members to discuss it, until news reports this week.

Like other members who said they learned of the data-gathering efforts when they were revealed in the Guardian and the Washington Post, Schock said the administration classified briefings he’s attended have revealed very little information.

“I can assure you the phone number tracking of non-criminal, non-terrorist suspects was not discussed,” he said. “Most members have stopped going to their classified briefings because they rarely tell us anything we don’t already know in the news. It really has become a charade.”

You mean there are under the table deals and backroom secret meetings?

Obama as the head of the UN's security council? Obama wants to go to war in Syria and Libya? No problem, he'll get the go ahead from the UN and tell our Congress to eat a bag of dicks.

Obama can lawfully and secretly detain American citizens without trial?

Obama can use drones for surveillance on American citizens?

Obama shits on the 4th amendment and is trying to shit on the 2nd amendment?

Obama spearheads the passing a HC bill nobody wanted but passed it via loopholes in Congress and backroom deals, earmarks etc, telling everyone it's not a tax and then argues in Supreme Court that it is a tax so that the damn bill itself isn't ruled unconstitutional?

Honest question......how can you liberals feel good about voting for this guy? Republicans aren't much better, GWB, Romney, or McCain for example. All Globalist puppets, ran, bought and paid for by the corporations that lobby our govt, on both sides of the isle. One's Coke, the other is Pepsi.

It's so early in the second term that I think he's going to be impeached and asked to resign. They're in a real tough spot because they're going to be asked to campaign against the leader of their party going into the mid-terms. That's not a winning formula. They can't even use the guy on the campaign trail unless they're going to double down and endorse the program, and how many of them are going to be willing to do that with voters up in arms? Not many, I would bet.

Maybe not. Who knows how this plays out. Things are real fluid right now, but when the mud clears, I think we'll see a fractured Democrat party with no single direction.

The libertarian party is licking its chops right now.

Their is no arguing that now. Hes becoming the most hated man in the world rather quickly.
Even his own, that have made deals with him say he never keeps up his end of the deal. Next 3 years will be interesting.
About the time 2016 rolls around, we will all know for sure the ends & outs of Obama-care. If its as bad as some predict? Dems are DOA
Please by all means Cosmo trot out Hillary for the win in 2016
Its easier & quicker to count the scandals she has not been involved with ,then has

While him resigning would make me JIMP, no freaking way this happens. Most of America is still under his "Hope and Change" trance.

If his own party members turn on him or HAVE to turn on him to protect their own stakes in the game, do you think his sheeples and the media will continue to support him?

No. But IMHO, I feel that it's going to be monumentally more difficult to get them to turn against him than say...George W. Bush.

You guys are kidding yourselves. The best outcome you can hope for is the Senate is taken back by republicans in 2014 and Obama just spends the last two years of his administration doing what he did in the first 5 years....flying around the country living the good life living off taxpayers. He'll end up getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars like that other lying POS Bill Clinton.

If the MSM let Obama survive Benghazi don't expect what has been brought to light since make them turn on him to the point he gets impeached or resigns.

I agree. The guy won't go, wont be impeached. But midterms could see senate go R, house be even stronger r. Obama will be a figurehead only and will use the veto over and over.

The only way Obama gets impeached is if the press pushes it and that will not happen. They are like abused spouses that get beaten but still come back. The press thinks they have an obligation to promote a good cause (liberal agenda) instead of just reporting the facts and letting us decide for ourselves. We keep blaming Obama and he deserves a lot of heat but it is the presses' failure to do their job that fosters all of this corruption.

Think about it. You have a young egocentric president that is immature and inexperienced that is embraced by the press. It goes to his head and he pushes the limits of the office to the extreme and the press lets him get by with it.

Result: Massive corruption because nobody is watching the store.

The libertarian party probably won't get many votes from typical dem voters. Their party line isn't attractive to them because your dem voters just pretend to care about civil liberties just like the rep voters just pretend to care about fiscal conservatism.

No matter how much they bitch, team comes first always.
