2014 Gambling Challenge - Conference Championship Round

The Playoffs are here! The Playoffs are here!

The betting windows are open for Conference Championship wagering.

Please do me a favor and post your bets like the example below. Do not post "Chiefs points $1,000" or other variations. It makes it easier for me to locate the correct place in the spreadsheet to enter your bet if you do it like the example.

Thanks.

PLEASE read the rules here.

PLEASE READ, RULE CHANGE!! Beginning this year, I will no longer allow any bets to be changed or cancelled. Please make sure you have posted the correct bet before hitting the submit button! Once posted, it is binding and the only option you will have is to post an offsetting bet if you change your mind (which off course will cost you at a minimum the 10% house vig). NO EXCEPTIONS!!

Also, anyone caught editing a bet after posting it will be immediately disqualified!

Remember that you must place a wager every 3 weeks at minimum. If you go without betting for 3 consecutive weeks, you will be disqualified.

The following people must bet this week or be disqualified for violating this rule.

Nobody

Above all else, lets have some fun!

How to read the lines

Sample line

Thu 9/6 New Orleans Saints +6 +223 OVER 52.5
(Date, VISITING TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)
7:30 PM Indianapolis Colts -6 -243 UNDER 52.5

(Time, HOME TEAM: Point Spread, Money Line, Over/Under)

How to bet the Money Line

Sample line
SAINTS +223
COLTS -243

First off, a money bet is a straight up win/lose bet. No points involved, so of course there are odds payoffs.

If you want to bet on the Saints, you will win $223 for every $100 that you bet. Conversely, for the Colts, you will win $100 for every $243 that you bet.

In other words, the team with the - money line is the favorite (therefore lower payout) and the team with the + is the under dog.

Placing Bets

PLEASE
, format your bets like this:

Colts (-6) $5000
Chiefs (+142 money) $1000
Chiefs/Texans (Under 38) $2000

Frankly, I'm looking forward to tomorrow which is Pie and BJ day, the holiday originally established by Charlemagne to acknowledge the Khazar kingdom's conversion to Judaism and the remarkable ability of Byzantine women to both bake and control their gag reflex.

I don't like any of these lines but I'll do my best to make it interesting.

Seattle Seahawks (-7) $5000
Indianapolis Colts (+6.5) $5000

I think if I win this one bet. it won me at least $10K, correct? I had at least $4,925K to start the day. I'm assuming I have at least $14K to bet.

If I don't have the money to make all these bets below please consider the bets in order.

If I have the money to make all the bets, then its a moot point.

Just trying to explain and make the bets clear this time just in case my math is wrong and I don't have the money.

Colts +6.5 $4000
Colts (+230 Money) $5000
Patriots/Colts (Over 53.5) $5000

The Colts ML was +230, so this bet was not accepted.
