Did you just have a little less fun when you went to the gun range to imagine playing bang bang kissyface, cowboys and indians, or klansmen versus the blacks at the shooting range?

Not sure how Whitman's situation affects the measure of lethality of the Virginia Tech, Tucson, Aurora and Newtown shootings, but I think we can all agree that it was a tremendous tragedy of immeasurable proportions when shooters for fun had a little less sh*ts and giggles when they went to play with their guns.
Thanks for the useless and pointless post~

I must have missed it.

What it seemed like was that you were saying that background checks and waiting periods are ultimately useless, because the Bad Guy that gets stymied by one can just get a gun off the black market, or steal it.

My response was that, yeah, they might be able to, but they will be a lot harder to get. The logical next step is that fewer Bad Guys will have them, which is the whole objective, here.

How am I doing?

Not very well, to tell the truth. Yes, my point was that background checks are, among other things, useless. You lose it though with your response. If you think that it is more difficult for someone to get their hands on a gun because of background checks, and that fewer bad guys have them as such, you live in a very naive world.

Yes, all you need to protect your family and home is a double barreled shotgun. Our VP that's protected by the SS says so.

Enlighten me, then. Suppose a Bad Guy wanted to get a gun. When he went to his local gun shop, the proprietor denied him (for whatever reason) after running a background check. How then would he get his gun?

Let me fill in the first two spaces with the black market and theft. Each have their own added difficulties, expenses, and risks, so it would it more difficult for the Bad Guy to get the gun. I don't see how that can be denied; even if it's easier to black-market or steal a gun than it should be, they can't be as easy as just buying one.

What else am I missing?

That it isn't as difficult as you seem to think it is.

Look you clueless ****head I don't even own any guns that are impacted by a 30 round limit. Why don't you bring up the fact those laws had zero affect on crime. They expired because they were the same as your points which is worthless~

They just don't get it.

We already have background checks and still have gun violence. The liberal politician mentality is 'well, we have to do something'. (Obamacare prime example)

When background checks at gun shows won't make a difference the next logical step is a national registry to make sure if weapons are sold in any manner, blame can be placed on somebody.

Never mind that a national registry wouldn't do ANY good, hey, we've successfully tracked every law abiding citizen and nobody else.

Meanwhile this supposedly makes more sense than severely punishing the tool that uses a weapon in an illegal act. Heck, I've recently read even if you make bombs you still are in the running for a paid teaching gig at a prominent liberal university.

You can't fix stupid.
