My wife converted. I had no idea how long and drawn out the conversion process is until then. I would think that they'd want it to be easier to bring in new people, but they make it so difficult I'm surprised anyone ever does it. I know I wouldn't. But then, I'm not really a believer to begin with so that probably dampens my enthusiasm a bit.

This isn't supposed to refute your point about ignoring rules, it's just supposed to correct the misconception that the word "ban" might cause.
"Isn't supposed to happen" = banned

Banned for the purposes of birth control, as I said. Sure, if somone if taking a drug for a different medical purpose and it happens to also not allow pregnancy, that's different. Condoms also = banned

Do you have a hard time conversing in real life? My post was clearly a joke. I'm not going toe to toe with you in crazy evangelical beliefs about the apocalypse that you picked up from late night tele-evangelists.

I figured you were kidding, but stevieray isn't exactly the humorous type. Anyway, I'm always glad to open a can of worms, and someone really needs to answer this "Why no Pope Jesus?" issue. Jesus might be very offended that no one has chosen to honor him.

Part of the role of the ordained life is humility. A Pope Jesus (or a Pope Peter, the first Pope), would not only be presumptuous, but really, really anti-humble.

Well, I guess. Still seems like it would be a nice gesture.

There are other ways of honoring Jesus. Mass, Christmas, prayers to Him, living out His teachings, etc.

Christ is the High Priest. He eliminated the need for any other. To do so would just be another example of their blasphemy
