I see. You just like singling out Catholics for not adhering to laws for some weird reason. Because, we all know, every other group of people that's supposed to adhere to a set of laws adheres to that set of laws 100% of the time.

Nah, they're just the hot topic of the day. Catholics aren't much different than other "religious" people who pick and choose what to follow.

Although the ban on birth control probably boosts the percentage of Catholic sinners.

Well if they're all that bad, as bad as you're perfect self seems to claim, I guess they'll be right there with me in hell! Perhaps you and I can buy them a drink once they arrive - if they arrive...

Pretty much any religious person readily acknowledges that they're a sinner, but thanks for the input. Nice to recognize your implied animosity toward people because of their religious beliefs.

I'm sure all "environmentalists" and "Democrats" never do things contrary to what they believe is ideal. It's just that you feel like singling out religious types for hypocrisy for some reason.

It's a very complicated issue for most Catholics, especially American ones. We just think it's a bunch of out of touch old guys making rules and typically don't look into the reasons for the prohibition of birth control. We're lazy, whattayagonna do?

By the way, I'm totally on board with the Church's teaching on the matter. But like I said, it's a deep issue and not something that can be explained in sound bites. Which doesn't bode well in the US.

I'm not perfect, but I don't think I'm going to hell, if hell exists. If I'm wrong, well, I'll be there with plenty of people I know.

You're 'on board' with prohibition of birth control pills, condom use, etc.? Why is it "especially complicated" for American Catholics? Apparently, it is not that complicated, the vast majority simply choose to ignore it.

Sigh. Most choose to ignore it because it's damned inconvenient.

Sound bite version:

Man and women are meant to be together physically inside of marriage. Fornication causes a ton of problems. Hence, birth control out of wedlock should not even be needed.

Marriage in the Catholic faith means being open to creation at all times, which is part of the Catholic wedding vows. Therefore birth control in wedlock should not be needed either. There is natural family planning for that.

Again, sound bite version.

And it will suck beyond all imagination.

I hope you are right too. Nobody should wish hell on anyone.

Yeah, I understand all that. I don't see why it is "especially complicated for Americans" as you said. Also don't see why you're "on board with it."

Birth control isn't banned per se. Sexual intercourse is supposed to be open to conception so using birth control to prevent conception isn't supposed to happen. But if a woman has a medical reason for taking the pill, for example, I don't think the fact that it prevents conception as a side effect is a problem.

This isn't supposed to refute your point about ignoring rules, it's just supposed to correct the misconception that the word "ban" might cause.

He's the guy who decides whether you get a ticket to heaven or whether you end up eternally damned. And I have to say I don't like your chances at this point.
