Sovereign Grace and Sovereign Grace Ministries (SGM) and Covenant Life Church (CLC) served with a lawsuit alleging clergy cover-ups of sexual abuse including molestation of children.

I don't know if that's true. I haven't researched it. If it is true, then I would say that finding an incidence rate of about 3% would not be varying too far from the norm. The bothersome thing (to me) is that finding it as equally widespread within a religious institution as it is in the general population would indicate that there is no moral difference between the laity and the clergy, nor any moral difference between religious and nonreligious people. Yet this implication is completely ignored by those who would point to religion as some kind of guiding moral influence.

Why is it so hard to believe that a child molester would want to be closer to children, entering into an area that makes it more possible? Why blame GOD for that?

Which age group is most often targeted by child molesters?
In the interviews I conducted, the majority of molesters cited a preference for children on the brink of puberty. This is the age of sexual awakening, making it easy for molesters to prey on the sexual curiosity and ignorance of youngsters. To quote one of the sexual offenders I interviewed, "Give me a kid who knows nothing about sex, and you've given me my next victim."

I haven't found a link to the sting operation yet, but I would not be surprised if that were the case. And yeah, lots of interesting info on that site.

Separate "God" from "religion" and reexamine my point.

One of the previous articles I put up by Medved quoted research showing a similar percentage.
Also, married people do it. So it can't be due to priests not marrying.

Still can't throw the baby out with the bathwater, religion is also a very vague term. Do you think if we outlawed all religions pedophilia would simply disappear? I think those that want to engage in such activities would find another way to get close to children.

Yes, I do recall you mentioning a percentage that was similar. I don't know what causes it. It does seem to me that the only way to help prevent it is to be on the watch for it and eliminate situations that make it possible. Well..and deal with people who have committed the crime instead of covering it up afterwards.

So what is the solution? Some parents even submit their children to it, I posted a story a couple of days ago with that situation.

Kill it with fire? No, seriously though, root it out aggressively and pay no attention to "sacred cows." Empower human beings instead of institutions so that the bad ones can't use institutions to hide themselves. Teach and preach the value of individuals, raise children to see themselves as not only worthy but divine - in and of themselves. Cherish equality, seek truth and clarity. Destroy or curtail culture that does not acknowledge the intrinsic value of human life.
