On January 16, 2013, President Obama released 23 “Gun Violence Reduction Executive Actions” of which Action #2, #14, #16, #17, #21, and #22 utilize the national healthcare system to collect gun ownership information. As Obamacare grows over the next decade, unwary citizens will voluntarily divulge firearm ownership information including serial numbers in exchange for routine healthcare. Through the power of incrementalism, placing this information in a federal database seems harmless at first.

However, someday in the future, imagine a loved one in your care needing critical medical attention, so you rush into an Obamacare facility because no other option exists. Healthcare enforcers examine your medical records and announce the Public Safety Authority has handed down Rule 1040 declaring all semiautomatic rifles, including .22s, are applicable only for military purposes. You must surrender your previously identified Ruger, 10/22 prior to your loved one receiving treatment. With no other choice you do. Scoffers might dismiss my warnings as fear mongering; something which would never happen. If you believe me and I am wrong, America has lost nothing. If you ignore me and I am right, America has lost everything. How much are you willing to risk? Shouldn’t we stop this now?

Well, if someone is ever denied care for refusing to report they have a gun under ACA, I would hope they'd take to the courts...all the way up.

I asked my Dr. in January about reporting my guns to him (in a joking manner), and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about

Gee, BEP, remember when I wrote a post about how health care IT wasn't a profit center for doctors, and the new data requirements were seriously increasing the amount of time doctors would have to spend filling out paperwork?

Of course, you jumped on me for the "france" argument, when---in fact---i was just pointing out what the nationalized health care nuts were using to justify their positions. I don't like Obamacare because of the BS (including the fictional cost numbers)

The real danger in this stuff is not immediate. Thats I think the reason the argument of the feds are coming after your guns loses steam. What I worry about is not this administration, or the next, or probably the one after. It say 16 years or more down the road with these laws still on the books, with Americans used to the new laws that some zealot comes along builds on these new existing regs and seizes handguns.

All it takes is the right confux of events as we have seen. The real issue is these people think our rights are granted by the government, not buy or creator. Much easier to take by the entity that bestowed them.,

What is "this stuff" you are talking about?

If anyone is under the impression that there is any requirement to report guns to a doctor, or that a doctor has any requirement to ask, or that a doctor with knowledge of gun ownership is required to report it to someone, then they should get their head out of their ass and step back into reality.

Ill make the assumption that by your reaction your a Dem. The issue here is not a right or left issue. You trust government to look out for your best interest and liberty. I do not. The bigger a government gets the less free you become.

Please, show me the executive order that:
Requires anyone to report guns to a doctor
Requires a doctor to ask about guns
Requires a doctor with knowledge of gun ownership to report it to someone

I think that's happening right now, just from previous laws. Obama has not returned any of the usurpations of power under Bush or anyone else, but has expanded on them.
