Sen. Elizabeth Warren Asks The Most Obvious Question Ever (re: Banking Regs)

At 1:20, she asks the question we've all been wanting someone to ask FOREVER. Then a government lawyer stumbles over his words.
At 2:20, she rattles off another one. Then a government lawyer stumbles over his words.
At 2:55, she asks another lawyer the same question. Said lawyer then tries to not stumble over her words.
At 3:25, she asks the same question again. That lawyer asks for some time.
At 3:45, she gets our back and goes for the knockout punch.
And then right after that you reward her good behavior by sharing this with everyone on the Internet. You know you want to.

This is outstanding...Now if we can somehow get this to amount to a little more than just "talk."

Republicans have nothing to stand up to that in 2016. This woman is going to be a force.

She has the courage of convictions and doesn't back down from powerful forces who want to bring her down. Seems to be really honest and sincere in her viewpoints, not just political grandstanding. But, what expertise does she have out of the financial/consumer protection arena?

I thought she proved her background. Anyways............

Look at how she acted and how the new Tea Party Ted Cruz acted on a committee. Have you seen the tape? Borders on McCarthyism.

If you haven't seen it, its butt ugly. Iran is for your nomination, Can you explain that sir? lets look at an interview you gave Al-Jezzera, where did this $250K come from? How do we know it didn't come from Iran?

Just how stupid can you be as a Senator. There are background checks. I ****ing have to explain where a $5K deposit came from. the prospective DOD boss hasn't explained a $225K deposit? Cruz knows this or he's an idiot and I don't think he's an idiot, just a grandstanding political opportunist.

I don't give a shit about hagel but Senators spouting off unsubstantiated rumors or making shit up in public hearing is horrible. We have been down that path it brought us down as a country and remains a stain on our history.

Hmmm. . .easy to blame the lawyers. The answers aren't all that bad. Why? If the bank entered into a Consent Judgment, there is no reason to go to trial becuase the bank has admitted to the judgment and consented to the entry of the judgment against them; i.e., there's no reson to go to trial if the bank consents to the judgment before trial.
The better answer follows, "we asked for increased penalties . . .in other words, Conrgess hasn't given the government lawyers enough penalty power to make the banks change their conduct, so it's Congress, not the lawyers who "just won't take the banks to trial." Bravo for the comments Sen. Warren made, but it's on Congress more than the lawyers at fault. Sometimes reality can't be found on sound bites in Congressional hearings.

It's obvious why. On this subject, she knows the subject up and down, forward and backward and those bankers don't scare her. It was fantastic to see a representative of the people take them on.
This.

Funny how BRC keeps harping on Rubio's embellished background in a variety of threads but for Warren it's just, "yeah well..."
