If you raise the minimum wage, then everyone who is slightly above minimum wage (i.e. first year teachers at 25,000 a year), are going to expect their compensation to go up as well.

I remember when the minimum wage went up in 08 (I think). It wasn't an automatic wage increase for everyone. Plus they did it in 2 steps.
