Anybody Watching The Grammys?
When Jethro Tull won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance years back it kinda ruined it for me.

I wasn't sure if I was going to watch the Grammys this year but I heard the Black Keys are gonna play and I like them.

The musicians I know think the Grammys are a joke. Sort of a popularity contest.

Nothing else is on.

The problem I have with the Grammys is that at first they were reserved for musicians.

I used to belong to the NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) and attended SXSW but quit. It's all politics now and preprogrammed bullshit.

There is a huge difference between "musicians" and "performers"

Timberlake, Beyonce, Spears, Rhiannon, etc. = performers

Beatles, Stones, Byrds, Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, etc. = musicians

Some of it is better than others... honestly I think the idea that it is all shit is overblown because people love shitting on things as soon as they are popular. Which is fine...whatever. I find great music in every little corner of this life I can.

It just funny to watch people sit on their asses with their worn out 80s hair bands talking shit on today's music like they have any inkling of an idea how much interesting and diverse music is out there today.
