Yes, because the cost effectiveness of one building's security on an irregular basis is comparable to tons of schools Monday through Friday 9 months a year.

Depends on your priorities. We pay for a LOT of bullshit in this country that we don't need. Instead of attacking the problem the government attacks the rights of its citizens. Because attacking the problem costs too much...but health care, that's one we don't have a problem overpaying for...

Honestly, I don't think the Feds need to be paying for school armed guards. The local schools should be able to handle that, with NO involvement from the Feds.

Obviously, we pay for things that we don't need and a case can be made that security at schools should have a higher priority. However, that wasn't the point he was trying to make. He was comparing school security with that of the legislative body. That isn't a valid comparison because the situations aren't even close.

Fair enough. But the problem is the "let them eat cake" posture that the government takes. Whether it's feasible or not. The Congress enjoys a much greater level of security than we do in our schools. They all sit around in their well protected halls and harumph about taking guns away from citizens etc. but they don't even sniff the actual problem.

All the legislation in the world doesn't stop criminals and nutjobs from being what they are. They are not addressing the real problem, as usual.

Our priorities are ****ed in this country, and it starts with the bumbling morons in DC.

I posted this on facebook yesterday; and a lady (a friend of my wife's) who always chimes in on any pro-gun issue I post said something to the effect of:
"They SHOULD get rid of the 2nd ammendment. There is no need for guns in this country anymore; the 2nd ammendment is obscolete. It didn't intend for citizens to possess military automatic weapons. Guns should be for military and LEO only"

lol. Ok lady.
I tried to educate her on the auto vs semi-auto deal; no dice.

I was cleaning my .45 one day, had it completely disassembled, had just rodded the barrel and held it up to the light to make sure it was spotless when Mrs. Radar winced and yelled at me to stop doing that. The bare barrel. Nothing else attached to it. Just the barrel.
There is no limit to the idiotic shit people can make up when they don’t know what they’re talking about/looking at and guns are a prime example.
I told Mrs. Radar to leave the room if it bugged her that much.
