that doesn't really matter. the aliens take on characteristics of whatever species they hatch from. Thus then, it makes sense that the aliens have different breeds that we haven't seen before.

LV-426 had nothing but a derelict spacecraft before the colony was established. There was nothing on that planet before humans tried to make it inhabitable via the atmosphere processor.

Did you even watch aliens? This game takes place in between aliens and alien 3, about 16 weeks after they blew the processor. These 'extra' species are added to spice up multiplayer.. thats about it.

Up to 4 player drop-in drop-out coop campaign, and a bunch of multiplayer modes. Full Marine customization as far as armor, gear, weapons, etc... kinda like Modern Warfare series as far as gun attachments, etc.
